The Auburn Maintenance Centre is a train depot operated by Downer Rail responsible for the maintenance of the Sydney Trains A, B and M set fleets.
As part of the contract to build and maintain the Sydney Trains A sets, John Holland built a depot on the site of the former Clyde Marshalling Yards adjacent to the MainTrain facility. [1] [2] [3] It was opened by Minister for Transport John Robertson on 24 July 2010. [4]
On 20 September 2014, an 11 road stabling facility was established to the south-east of the facility. Provision has been made for an extra five roads. [5] [6] In February 2017, it was revealed that subsidence had occurred underneath the depot after plastic cells had failed. Remediation costs have been estimated as high as $70 million. [7] [8]
During 2018, maintenance of the Sydney Trains M set fleet was moved to Auburn from Eveleigh Railway Workshops.[ citation needed ]
The maintenance centre building has seven roads. It has stabling facilities on ether side with the whole facility stretching for two kilometres. [2]

The Sydney Trains M sets, also referred to as the Millennium trains, are a class of electric multiple units that operate on the Sydney Trains network. Built by EDi Rail between 2002 and 2005, the first sets initially entered service under the CityRail brand on 1 July 2002 after short delays due to electrical defects. The M sets were built as "fourth generation" trains for Sydney's suburban rail fleet, replacing the 1960s Tulloch carriages and providing extra capacity on the suburban rail network. The sets currently operate on the T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown, T5 Cumberland, T7 Olympic Park and T8 Airport & South lines.
UGL Rail is an Australian rail company specialising in building, maintaining and refurbishing diesel locomotives, diesel and electric multiple units and freight wagons. It is a subsidiary of UGL Limited and is based in Melbourne, with a staff of 1,200 across Australia and Asia. It operates factories in Broadmeadow, Maintrain Auburn, Spotswood and Bassendean. While it used to operate a factory in Taree, the plant was shut down and the equipment sold off.

The Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre is located at the heritage-listed former railway workshops in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, on the Main Southern railway line. Now a museum, it is also known as the Goulburn Rail Workshop and Goulburn Roundhouse. The workshops were added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The workshops were saved from demolition by the Goulburn Locomotive Roundhouse Preservation Society and is now a museum open to the public with large collection of rolling stock and various exhibits, as well as privately owned locomotives and carriages with some commercial repair work happening on site.

Three Bridges Depot is an Electric Traction Depot located in Three Bridges, West Sussex, England. The depot is about 1.5 km south of Three Bridges railway station, on either side of the Brighton Main Line.
Tengah Depot is a future integrated train and bus depot in Tengah, Singapore. At 44.5 ha, the at-grade depot will house 100 trains of the Jurong Region line (JRL) fleet and house 600 buses. The station will be located along the line between the Hong Kah and Corporation stations. Other facilities of the depot include the Operations Control Centre (OCC) for the JRL. First announced in 2018, the depot is expected to be completed in 2026 along with the first stage of the JRL.
The Kangy Angy Maintenance Centre is a railway depot at Kangy Angy on the Central Coast, New South Wales to maintain the NSW TrainLink D sets. The depot was officially opened on 24 February 2021.
