Auburndale City Hall is a national historic site located at 1 Bobby Green Plaza, Auburndale, Florida in Polk County. The monument is a "L" shaped two-story brick building, built in 1927 in Italian Renaissance Revival style.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 24, 2013. [1]

It lies at the western end of Newton near the intersection of interstate highways 90 and 95. It is bisected by the Massachusetts Turnpike. T USA Water Ski was founded in 1939 and replaced the American Water Ski Association. As of 2015, USA Water Ski was the largest water ski federation in the world with more than 600 clubs and 20,000 members. In 2016, they announced plans for a new training facility, office complex and space for the industry's Hall of Fame and museum in Auburndale, Florida.

The Eminence United States historic place

The Eminence is an historic estate house located on a 5.6 acre riverfront parcel at 122 Islington Road in the village of Auburndale in Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1853, it was designed by noted Boston architect Hammatt Billings in the Italian Villa style of architecture, and is one of two surviving high-style Italianate estate houses in the Auburndale area. It was purchased, in unfinished state, by Thomas Hall, a magnetic instrument maker, in 1853.

Newton Centre Branch Library United States historic place

The Newton Centre Branch Library is a historic library building at 1294 Centre Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The building now houses municipal offices. The 1+12-story brick building was designed by Newton resident James Ritchie of Ritchie, Parsons & Tyler, and was built in 1928. It was one of five branch libraries paid for by subscription of Newton citizens and built between 1926 and 1939. The building is basically Tudor Revival in its styling, although its entry has a Colonial Revival segmented arch surround.

David Hicks (ski jumper) American ski jumper

David Anthony Hicks is an American former ski jumper. He placed 19th in the large hill and 41st in the normal hill at the 1964 Winter Olympics. Next year he won the national title and finished 11th at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and in 2017 was inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame.

Florida Western and Northern Railroad

The Florida Western and Northern Railroad was a railroad line built and operated by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad running from Coleman, Florida, all the way to West Palm Beach via Auburndale and Sebring, a distance of 204 miles. Part of the line remains today from Auburndale to West Palm Beach and is now operated by CSX Transportation as their Auburndale Subdivision and Miami Subdivision.

CSX Transportation's Carters Subdivision is a segment of CSX's A Line running from Poinciana southwest to Lakeland. The Carters Subdivision ends just west of Downtown Lakeland at Lakeland Junction, where it continues west as the Lakeland Subdivision and connects to the Vitis Subdivision.
