Avni Cinemax, also operating as Avni Movies and Avni Telemedia, is an Indian film production and film distribution company run by the married couple Khushbu Sundar and Sundar C. Established in 2004, the company's name is inspired by the first two letters of their daughter Avantika's name. [2]

Contents

Khushbu made her debut as a film producer with the 2004 action drama Giri , directed by her husband. The film, starring Arjun Sarja, Reemma Sen and Ramya, performed well at the box office. Encouraged by this, Khushbu continued her role as a producer, taking on numerous projects further listed in this article. [3]

She started her career in Tamil cinema with Mappillai (2011) and then appeared in several commercially successful Tamil films such as Engeyum Kadhal (2011), Velayudham (2011), Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013), Singam II (2013) and Aranmanai (2014). She has also acted in the Malayalam film Villain (2017).

Kalakalappu (transl. Humour) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by his wife Khushbu. It stars Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya and with music composed by Vijay Ebenezer. It was originally titled Masala Cafe, but was later renamed to Kalakalappu. The film released on 11 May 2012 to positive reviews, and became a commercial success. The film is 25th directorial venture for Sundar. The film was remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani. In 2018, the film had a spiritual successor Kalakalappu 2. The film is loosely based on the 2009 German film Soul Kitchen.

Coffee with Kadhal is an 2022 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy drama film directed and co-written by Sundar C. and produced by Khushbu, A. C. S. Arun Kumar and A. C. Shanmugam under the banner of Avni Cinemax and Benzz Media (P) Ltd. The film stars Jiiva, Jai, Srikanth, Malvika Sharma, Amritha Aiyer, Raiza Wilson, Aishwarya Dutta, Samyuktha Shanmuganathan and Dhivyadharshini. The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography handled by E. Krishnasamy and editing by Fenny Oliver. This was the posthumous film of noted actor-director Pratap Pothen, who died on 15 July 2022 from natural causes.

The film is slightly inspired from the 1991 American film " The Silence of the Lambs.
