Fremont is a neighborhood in the North Central District of Seattle, Washington, United States. Originally a separate city, it was annexed to Seattle in 1891. It is named after Fremont, Nebraska, the hometown of two of its founders: Luther H. Griffith and Edward Blewett.

Formerly an independent city, the City of Seattle's official boundaries define it as bounded to the north by Crown Hill, to the east by Greenwood, Phinney Ridge and Fremont, to the south by the Lake Washington Ship Canal, and to the west by Puget Sound's Shilshole Bay. It is bordered by Belltown to the south, Lake Union to the east, the Lake Washington Ship Canal to the north and Interbay to the west.

Yesler Terrace is a 22-acre (8.9 ha) mixed-income, mixed-use neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was originally completed in 1941 as the state's first public housing development and the first racially integrated public housing development in the United States. It occupies much of the area formerly known as Yesler Hill, Yesler's Hill, or Profanity Hill. The development is administered by the Seattle Housing Authority, who have been redeveloping the neighborhood into a mixed-income area with multi-story buildings and community amenities since 2013.

John Stanford International School is an elementary school located in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It serves grades K-5 in the Seattle School District and offers a dual-immersion program in Japanese and Spanish that is available to all students. Formerly known as Latona School, the school is named for the late John Stanford, superintendent of the Seattle School District, who died on 28 November 1998. The historic school building (1906) is a designated City of Seattle Landmark.
Woodstock Elementary School, formerly known as Woodstock School is an elementary school within Portland Public Schools, located in the Woodstock neighborhood of southeast Portland, Oregon, United States. Established in 1891, the school was housed in a four-room building until it joined School District No. 1 in 1909. The newly constructed two-story, eight-room school opened in 1911 at its current location. The Woodstock School underwent expansions in 1925 and 1955, but a fire in 1980 destroyed the building's two-story center. Protests by Woodstock residents and the Woodstock Parent Teachers Association ended the school district's plans to close the school due to fire damage and low student enrollment throughout the city. The school remained open and underwent repairs, but its second story was lost. The school marks the oldest standing elementary school in Portland.
