Bajhang Airport( IATA : BJH, ICAO : VNBG) is a domestic airport located in Jayaprithvi [1] serving Bajhang District, a district in Sudurpashchim Province in Nepal.
The airport was originally opened in October 1976 but ceased to operate after road access to the district headquarter Chainpur was established in 2008. [2] [3] There are plans to reopen the airport after the runway is blacktopped, which was due to be done by 2020. [4] Until 2022, there were no scheduled services to and from Bajhang Airport. Previously Nepal Airlines operated routes to Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. [5]
The airport resides at an elevation of 4,100 feet (1,250 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway which is 654 metres (2,146 ft) in length. [1] [2]

On 27 July 2000, de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter operated by Royal Nepal Airlines crashed in Nepal en route from Bajhang Airport to Dhangadhi Airport on a domestic passenger flight. The wreckage of the aircraft, registration 9N-ABP, was found in Jogbuda, Dadeldhura District. All 22 passengers and the three crew aboard were killed in the crash. An investigation into the crash was launched by Nepalese authorities after the accident site was located.
