Taplejung Airport( IATA : TPJ, ICAO : VNTJ), also known as Suketar Airport, [3] is a domestic airport located in Phungling [1] serving Taplejung District, a district in Province No. 1 in Nepal. It is the main tourist gateway on the Kangchenjunga mountainous area and Pathibhara Devi Temple. [2]

History

The airport started operations in October 1976. [2] After its runway was blacktopped, Taplejung Airport restarted scheduled service in 2016. [4] In 2018, plans were announced to upgrade the runway yet again. [5]

Pokhara International Airport is an international airport in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is located 3 km (1.9 mi) east of the old domestic airport, which it will gradually replace. The airport is Nepal's third international airport and officially began operations on 1 January 2023, with STOL-operations to Jomsom still being operated from the old airport. The airport is expected to handle one million passengers per year.
