Bang Bang Rock & Roll was released to highly positive reviews from music critics; on the review aggregator site Metacritic, the album holds a score of 83, indicating "universal acclaim". [1] The music review online magazine Pitchfork placed Bang Bang Rock & Roll at number 192 on their list of top 200 albums of the 2000s. [12]

The first track from the album, "Formed a Band" was featured on the video game FIFA Street 2 , as well as an episode of ITV's Lewis , the popular Inspector Morse spin-off. [13] An earlier version of the song had previously been released on "The New Cross: An Angular Sampler", a compilation album released by Angular Records in 2003; and as a single on Rough Trade Records in 2004. "Moving to L.A." was featured on "Bring Your Own Poison: The Rhythm Factory sessions". The single 'Good Weekend' has been featured on the Channel 4 programme Skins [15] as well as the romantic comedy Good Luck Chuck . [16] Although it wasn't released as a single, the album track "Fight!" was used in British teen soap Hollyoaks , while the album's title track, "Bang Bang, Rock & Roll", was featured on the Xbox 360 video game Saints Row as well as the 2012 Chevrolet "Chevy Sonic" Super Bowl Commercial. It was also covered by the American indie rock band We Are Scientists on their 2006 b-sides album Crap Attack .
Spoon is an American rock band from Austin, Texas, consisting of members Britt Daniel, Jim Eno (drums), Alex Fischel, Gerardo Larios and Ben Trokan. Matthew Stephen Ward is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Portland, Oregon. Ward's solo work is a mixture of folk and blues-inspired Americana analog recordings; he has released ten studio albums since 1999, primarily through independent label Merge Records. The Hold Steady is an American rock band originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, now based in Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. Art Brut are a Berlin-based English and German indie rock band. Their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, was released on 30 May 2005, with its follow up, It's a Bit Complicated, released on 25 June 2007. Named after French painter Jean Dubuffet's definition of outsider art – art by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people, and made without thought to imitation or presentation – South London's Art Brut were tagged by NME as part of the "Art Wave" scene that also included bands such as The Rakes, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. The band released further albums, Art Brut vs Satan in 2009 and Brilliant! Tragic! in 2011. A fifth album, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!", was released in 2018.

Brilliant! Tragic! is the fourth studio album by Art Brut, released on 23 May 2011. The first single from the album will be "Lost Weekend". The album was recorded in Salem, Oregon and is the second to be produced by Frank Black, best known as the frontman of Pixies. To accompany the album, Art Brut have compiled a comic book version of Brilliant! Tragic! to be released at the same time.
Everybody Was in the French Resistance...Now! are a band dedicated to writing responses to popular songs, featuring Eddie Argos of Art Brut and Dyan Valdés of The Blood Arm. They have released one album, Fixin' the Charts, Vol. 1 in 2010.
Art Brut Live At Schubas 11/15/2005 is a live album by British indie rock group Art Brut. At present, it is only available in mp3 format. The album was recorded at Schubas Tavern in Chicago, Illinois, during the promotional tour for the band's first album. Although the majority of tracks on this live album are taken from Bang Bang Rock & Roll, it also contains early versions of St.Pauli and Blame It On The Trains, which later appear on the second Art Brut album It's A Bit Complicated.
Art Brut Top of the Pops is a compilation album by the band Art Brut. As well as a 'best of' set, the two-disc collection includes two new songs, "Arizona Bay" and "We Make Pop Music", as well as B-sides, cover versions, demos and live material.
Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out! is the fifth album by Art Brut released on 23 November 2018. The album is the band's first album in seven years after the 2012 release Brilliant! Tragic!. The lead-off single from the album was the eponymously-titled "Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!", the first new Art Brut material to be released since 2011. A second single, with video, "Hospital!" was released on 2 October 2018, along with full details of the album.
