Barbucca is a genus of loaches native to Southeast Asia. It is currently the only genus in its family. [1] [2]

Ponticola is a genus of gobies native mostly to fresh waters of the Black Sea - Caspian Sea region in Eurasia. Some species occur in the brackish-water Black and Caspian seas themselves. It was considered to be part of the broader goby subfamily Benthophilinae, also endemic to the same region, although the 5th edition of Fishes of the World does not list any subfamilies in the Gobiidae. Originally, Ponticola was described as subgenus of Neogobius.

Barbucca diabolica, the fire-eyed loach, is a very small loach native to the Malay Peninsula, Borneo and Thailand. It can be found in small forest streams and backwaters, where it eats algae, detritus and small invertebrates. It can reach a length of 2.3 cm (0.91 in). The population is unknown but is considered to be declining sharply in Thailand; it is threatened by forest loss and stream modification. It exists in protected areas but It may be confused with other species so clarification is needed.

Bhavania is a small genus of loaches of the family Balitoridae.

Ellopostoma is a small genus of loaches native to Southeast Asia. This is the only genus in the family Ellopostomatidae, having been confirmed as being in a family of its own by M. Kottelat in his review of the loaches in 2012.

Vaillantella, the long-fin loaches, is a small genus of loaches found in Southeast Asia. This genus is the only member of the family Vaillantellidae having been confirmed as such by M. Kottelat in his review of the loaches in 2012.
