Varsity Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of Binghamton University in Vestal, New York, United States. The field is home to the Binghamton Bearcats baseball team of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The field holds a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Following the 2011 season, plans for renovations to the facility were announced. The additions and improvements, which were scheduled to be completed prior to the 2012 season, included stadium seating, bullpens, a press box, a PA system, dugouts, and a batter's eye. [3] Due to construction delays, however, the Bearcats were unable to play any 2012 games at the field. The team played the majority of its games on the road and used the Binghamton Mets' NYSEG Stadium and Cornell University's Hoy Field for their seven home games. [4] [5] [6]

The West Virginia Mountaineers baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, West Virginia, United States. John A. Affleck is an American former college sports coach. He coached baseball, men's basketball, and men's golf at Binghamton University, in addition to serving as an instructor and administrator. Under him, Binghamton's men's golf program qualified for nine NCAA Tournaments, including one in Division I. He is the only professor of physical education in the State University of New York (SUNY) system to have received the Chancellor's Award for Teaching.
The 2014 America East Conference baseball tournament was held from May 21 through 23. The top four regular season finishers of the league's six teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts, the home park of UMass Lowell. Binghamton won their third tournament championship, and second consecutive, to claim the America East Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

They played their home games at the Binghamton University Events Center in Vestal, New York and were led by ninth-year head coach Tommy Dempsey. In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 4–14, 4–10 in America East play to finish in ninth place. They lost to Hartford in the first round of the America East tournament.
