Bashkand (Persian : باشكند‎, also Romanized as Bāshkand and Bāsh Kand)^[1] is a village in Abbas-e Gharbi Rural District, Tekmeh Dash District, Bostanabad County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 273, in 53 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Abbas-e Gharbi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Tekmeh Dash District, Bostanabad County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 10,070, in 2,100 families. The rural district has 28 villages.

Tikmeh Dash District is a district (bakhsh) in Bostanabad County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 27,051, in 5,914 families. The District has one city: Tekmeh Dash. The District has four rural districts (dehestan): Abbas-e Gharbi Rural District, Abbas-e Sharqi Rural District, Sahandabad Rural District, and Ujan-e Sharqi Rural District.
