It is situated on the left bank of the Segre river near its confluence with the Llobregós river and at the point where the routes from Calaf and Cervera meet the route from Lleida to La Seu d'Urgell.

Coll de Nargó is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Urgell in Catalonia, a region of Spain. It is situated in the Segre valley by the Oliana reservoir. The municipality is served by the C-14 road between Ponts and La Seu d'Urgell, the L-511 road to Isona and the L-401 road to Sant Llorenç de Morunys. The Romanesque church of Sant Climent dates from the eleventh century, and has a rectangular pre-Romanesque bell-tower.
Oliana is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Urgell in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Segre valley immediately below the Oliana reservoir. There is a factory of domestic electrical appliances in the town, and the presence of non-farming employment has meant that Oliana has escaped the depopulation experienced by most municipalities in north-west Catalonia. It is currently the second-largest town in the Alt Urgell, behind the comarcal capital La Seu d'Urgell. The town is served by the C-14 road between Ponts and La Seu d'Urgell.
Fígols i Alinyà is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Urgell in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the left bank of the Segre river between Coll de Nargó and Organyà, just above the Oliana reservoir. The municipality was formed in 1972 by the merger of the municipalities of Fígols d'Organyà and Alinyà: the ajuntament is in Fígols. A local road links the municipality with Organyà.
Organyà is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Urgell in Catalonia. It is situated on the right bank of the Segre river below the Trespons gorge, and is served by the C-14 road between Ponts and La Seu d'Urgell. There is a monument to the Homilies d'Organyà, a 12th or 13th century collection of sermons which is the oldest literary text in the Catalan language to survive in its entirety, discovered in the town in 1904.
Isona i Conca Dellà is a municipality in the comarca of the Pallars Jussà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Conques river in the south-east of the comarca. It was formed in 1970 by the fusion of the following municipalities: Isona, Basturs, Benavent de la Conca, Biscarri, Conques, Covet, Gramenet, Llordà, Masos de Sant Martí, Montodó, Orcau i Figuerola d'Orcau, Sant Romà d'Abella and Siall. The town hall is in Isona. The municipality is served by the C-1412 road between Artesa de Segre and Tremp, and is linked to Coll de Nargó by the L-511. It includes a small exclave to the south.
Cercs is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà in Catalonia. It is situated on the right bank of the Llobregat river above the Baells reservoir. It is the site of an important power station which burns the lignite extracted at Fígols and Saldes. The town is served by the C-1411 road between Berga and the Cadí tunnel.

The municipality is served by the C-1313 road between Balaguer and Ponts, and is linked to Agramunt by the L-302 road.

The Ter river runs through the valley, now dammed into Pantà de Sau, a reservoir which is in the municipal territory of Vilanova de Sau, and is a tourist attraction and base for water sports and hiking. The reservoir houses the submerged Church of Sant Romà.
Agramunt is a municipality (municipi) in the comarca of the Urgell in Catalonia. It is situated in the north of the comarca, near the border with the Noguera. The town centre is protected as a historic-artistic monument, especially the Roman church of Santa Maria which dates from the 12th-13th centuries. The town is also known for the production of torró d'Agramunt, a sort of confectionery traditionally eaten at Christmas. The town is linked to Tàrrega by the C-240 road, to Cervera by the L-303 road and to Artesa de Segre by the L-302 road. The Urgell canal passes through the municipality, crossing the Montclar range through a tunnel. The municipality includes the exclave of Montclar d'Urgell to the north-west.
Castellet i la Gornal is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Penedès in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Foix river at the point where it crosses the Coastal Range. The river is dammed to form the Foix reservoir. The ajuntament is in La Gornal. The municipality is served by the N-340 road, and by a local road to Vilanova i la Geltrú.
Solsona is a municipality and capital of the comarca of the Solsonès in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the centre of the comarca in the Catalan Central Depression. It is served by the C-55 road to Manresa, and is linked to Berga and Bassella by the C-26. Until a few years ago, Solsona used to be the main road used by people from Barcelona to go to Andorra.
Queralbs is a municipality in the comarca of the Ripollès in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Pyrenees to the north of Ribes de Freser, near the peaks of Puigmal (2909 m), Infern (2896 m) and Noufonts (2864 m). Tourism and hydroelectricity are the bases of the local economy. The Virgin of Nuria shrine is situated in the municipality, to the north of the village in Vall de Núria: it houses a romanesque mural image of la Mare de Déu de Núria. The shrine is reached by Vall de Núria Rack Railway from Ribes de Freser, which also serves the village. There is also a local road to Ribes de Freser, which serves the ski resort.
