Bathinda College of Law or commonly known as BCL is a private law school situated beside Badal Road in Bathinda, Bathinda district in the Indian state of Punjab. [1] It offers undergraduate 3 years law course and 5 year Integrated B.A. LL.B. which is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to Punjabi University. [2] [3]

History

Bathinda College of Law was established in 2008 by the Bathinda Educational and Environmental Care Society. [3]

Qila Mubarak, is a historical monument in the heart of the city of Bathinda in Punjab, India. It is recognized as monument of national importance and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. It has been in existence from 1100 to 1200 AD in its current place and is the oldest surviving fort in India. It was here that Razia Sultan, the first woman to take charge of the Delhi throne was incarcerated upon her defeat and dethroned. The bricks of the fort date back to the Kushana period when emperor Kanishka ruled over Northern India/Bactria. Raja Dab, along with emperor Kanishka, is believed to have built the fort. Qila Mubarak in latter part of the 10th Century was under the rule of Jayapala, a ruler of the Hindu Shahi dynasty.

Rao Bhatti (also known as Raja Bhatti) is an ancient Hindu king of the Yaduvanshi lineage and the principal ancestor of the Bhati/Bhatti Rajput tribe present in modern-day Pakistan and India.

Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 13 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Punjab state in northern India. In 17th Lokh Sabh, it is represented by Harsimart Kaur Badal. She has been representing Bathinda Lok Sabha Constituency in Lok Sabha since 2009. In general election of 2009, Harsimrat Kaur defeated Yuvraj Raninder singh with margin of 1,20,948 votes. In 2014`s general election she defeated Manpreet Singh Badal with margin of 19,395 votes and in 2019, Amarinder Singh Raja warring lost to Harsimart Kaur Badal with a margin of 21,722 votes.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant</span>

The Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant at Bathinda was one of the three coal-fired thermal power stations in Punjab. It was a medium-sized power station with four units that were begun to be built in early 1970s and completed in 1982. All total generate up to 460 MW of power that meets the irrigation needs of lower Punjab. Having generated electricity to meet the power demand of Punjab, the thermal plant shut down indefinitely on September 27, 2017.

Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant is located on National Highway No. 7 which runs from Bathinda to Chandigarh.

Ludhiana-Bhatinda-Ajmer Expressway, consisting of 2 separate Ludhiana-Bhatinda Expressway and Bhatinda-Ajmer Expressway projects on the "Ludhiana–Ajmer Economic Corridor (EC-8)", is 6-lane access-controlled under-construction express national highway project by the NHAI which will connect Pathankot via Ludhiana to Bhatinda and Ajmer. The movement of goods will be facilitated, via Ajmer, from northern states to ports at western coast such as Kandla port.

Bathinda Airport is a domestic airport and an Indian Air Force base serving the city of Bathinda and the Malwa region in Punjab, India. It is located 26 kilometres (16 mi) north-west of the city in Bhisiana and near the village of Virk Kalan. The airport operates commercial flights under the Airports Authority of India as a civil enclave of the Bhisiana Air Force Station. Alliance Air was the only commercial airline that operated flights from the airport to Delhi from December 2016 till 2020. Since then, the airport remained inactive, until when in September 2023, FlyBig, restarted flight operations by starting flights to Ghaziabad and later to Dehradun from 18 September 2023.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda is a medical college and medical research public university based in Bathinda, Punjab, India. As one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, it operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS Bathinda spreads over a large area of about 177 Acres and is surrounded by lush green parks. It became operational in 2019, one of the six AIIMS to do so in 2019.

Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754A) is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 6-lane wide expressway in the north-western part of India. The expressway will reduce the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar from earlier 1,430 km to 1,316 km and the time travel from 26 hours to only 13 hours. It is a part of the Bharatmala and Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (EC-3). It will pass through four states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
