Chitkara University is a private university located in Rajpura, Punjab, India. It offers undergraduate programs, post-graduate program and doctoral programs in fields of engineering, management, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, hospitality, art & design and education. [2] It was established and is managed by the Chitkara Educational Trust.

Contents

History

Chitkara University, Punjab started its way as Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology established in 2002 and affiliated to Punjab Technical University. [3] The university was established in 2010 [4] after being granted university status with the passing of The Chitkara University Act, 2008 in 2009. [5]

Chitkara University's 50-acre main campus is located in Jansla Village, Rajpura, Punjab, along the Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway (NH-64), which is 33.1 km away from Chandigarh. [3]

[6] Relevant programmes are approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), [7] Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), [8] National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), [9] Indian Nursing Council (INC), [10] Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), and National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). Chitkara University was ranked in the 151–200 band among universities in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023, [19] 16th in the Pharmacy ranking, [20] 30th in the Architecture ranking, [21] 64th in the Management ranking [22] and 92th in the Engineering ranking. [23]

Internationally, the university was ranked in the 551-600 band among universities in Asia by QS World University Rankings (Asia) in 2024 and 1201-1400 band among universities in the World by QS World University Rankings in 2024. [24]

Faculty of Pharmacy, Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, formerly Pharmacy College Saifai, is a government pharmacy college in Saifai, Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, established in 2015. It is first grant-in-aid college run by Uttar Pradesh Government offering degree course in Pharmacy. For the first batch enrolled in year of 2015–16, it was affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, and from 2016–17, it became a constituent college of the newly established Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences. It gives admission from university's own entrance exam, named CPNET. In 2023, NIRF ranked it among top 101-125 Pharmacy colleges/universities in India.

Anurag University is a Private University located in Venkatapur, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Established in 2020, and is one of the First Private Universities in the State of Telangana. The Institution currently offers 15 Undergraduate Programs, 10 Postgraduate Programs and 9 Doctoral Programs through its Schools of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Agriculture and Medical Sciences.
