Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), formerly Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, [1] is a State technical university of Punjab located in Bathinda, Punjab, India. It was established in 2015 and has jurisdiction over 11 districts namely Bathinda, Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Fazilka. [2] University will function from upgraded Giani Zail Singh Punjab Technical University Campus. [3] MRSPTU has signed MoU with Thompson Rivers University of Canada in which a student of 4 year Bachelor's degree program here after studying for 2 years, can complete rest 2 years in Canada and also get 3 year work permit in Canada. [4] The building is situated in bathinda - dabwali road. MRSPTU is also fit for central assistance under section 12(B). [5]

Chand Kaur was the regent of the Sikh Empire, proclaimed as Malika Muqaddisa on 2 December 1840. She was born to Sardar Jaimal Singh of the Kanhaiya Misl. Born in a Punjabi family, Sital has authored over 300 books, several songs and innumerable articles and earned several accolades and awards for the same including 2 Sahitya Academy Awards. He was a pioneer who brought colorful printed books to the Punjabi literature in the form of Punjabi children poetry and stories. Sital's work has been cited in Annual report of the registrar of newspapers for India, 1960.

Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780 –1839), the founder of the Sikh Empire, which ruled the northwest Indian subcontinent in the early half of the 19th century. The series stars Damanpreet Singh, Tunisha Sharma, Shaleen Bhanot, Rumi Khan, Sonia Singh, Sneha Wagh and Chetan Pandit.

Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu is an Indian educational administrator. He is vice-chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, BATHINDA. He has also served as Dean Academic for a long time in I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University from March 2010 to October 2016.
