Beauty World Market was an open-air market that was opened in July 1947 in Singapore. It was located at the junction of Upper Bukit Timah Road and Jalan Jurong Kechil. Just next to it was Beauty World Town, another shopping place was opened in 1962. It was located at the junction of Upper Bukit Timah Road and Chun Tin Road. [1] Both shopping areas were completely demolished by 1984 due to frequent fire outbreaks. [2] [3] The original site of the market had since been occupied by two Parking lots and Beauty World MRT Station.

Bukit Panjang is a planning area and residential town located in the West Region of Singapore. A portion of this town is situated on a low-lying elongated hill. The planning area is bounded by Bukit Batok to the west, Choa Chu Kang to the northwest, Sungei Kadut to the north, the Central Water Catchment to the east and Bukit Timah to the south. Tiong Bahru is a housing estate located within the Bukit Merah Planning Area, in the Central Region of Singapore. Tiong Bahru was constructed in the 1920s by the Singapore Improvement Trust, the predecessor to the Housing Development Board (HDB) and an entity of the British colonial authority providing mass public housing in Singapore and is the oldest housing estate in Singapore. The main estate consists of 30 apartment blocks with over 900 units of two to five rooms that are also commonly referred to as "walk-ups". There are also high-rise HDB flats and condominiums along Boon Tiong Road, Jalan Membina and Kim Tian Road which surround the main estate.

Located along Upper Bukit Timah Road, this station took its name from the historic Beauty World Market, a former amusement park and market that once stood in the vicinity. Beauty World station primarily serves the residential estates along Jalan Jurong Kechil and Toh Yi Drive, as well as Beauty World Centre, Beauty World Plaza, and Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. It is also within walking distances to Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School, Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre, Bukit Timah Community Club, Bukit Timah Tua Pek Kong Temple, and Bee Low See Temple.

Bukit Canberra is an integrated sports and community hub next to Sembawang MRT station. The hub houses facilities including an indoor sports hall, the largest ActiveSG gym in Singapore, a six-lane sheltered swimming pool, and an eight-lane lap pool. There will also be 3 km of running trails, of various difficulties, passing throughout the development. It will also house a polyclinic, a senior care centre, and a hawker centre.
