The Beauty with a Purpose program is a registered charity and a non-profit organisation associated with Miss World. The first winner of the Beauty with Purpose Award was given to Miss World Costa Rica 2001, Piarella Peralta on November 16, 2001. It raises money and participates in humanitarian projects across the world.

History

Hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised[ citation needed ] and donated to local and international organisations to aid disadvantaged children the world over. [1] [2] [3] [4] [ citation needed ]

Variety, the Children’s Charity has been closely associated with Beauty with a Purpose for many years[ citation needed ]. When Simon Cowell was honoured with the 2010 Humanitarian Award at the Variety World Conference in Hollywood, he remarked that it was Julia Morley who should be collecting the award in his place, for her work as a humanitarian through Beauty with a Purpose. [5]

Other causes to have benefited from Beauty with a Purpose include the funding for cleft palate teams in South America, Sri Lanka and Russia, three fundraising tours to support abandoned and neglected children in Vietnam, long-term support for Operation Hunger and the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Africa, and teaming up with Jackie Chan and the Chinese Red Cross in bringing financial aid to those most seriously affected by the Asian tsunami.

During the Miss World 2011 Final in London, Nelson Mandela presented Beauty with a Purpose with a message which was read out by his grandson, Chief Mandela:

‘It is indeed a proud moment for me to stand in front of you today to deliver a message of support from my grandfather Nelson Dalibhunga Mandela, former president of South Africa. Throughout his life, Nelson Mandela has supported humanitarian actions aimed at serving marginalised individuals and communities of our world. Nelson Mandela therefore salutes the Beauty with a Purpose programme which helps children worldwide and which also mobilises young people to be involved in their own country with a useful purpose to assist disadvantaged children. Nelson Mandela would like to extend a congratulatory message to the Beauty with a Purpose programme as you celebrate your 40th birthday and wishes that you grow from strength to strength as you continue with your work of empowering young people to be of service to their communities.’ [6]

The Miss World contestants (with the help of their Miss World National Organisations) have set up Beauty with a Purpose projects in more than 100 countries.

Francisco Escobar has been declared as the first Ambassador of Beauty with a Purpose.

Carmen Soliman has been first Competition about Award Miss World 2020 .

Beauty with a Purpose challenge

Beauty with a Purpose, formerly known as Miss World Scholarship, is an event established in 2001 that is celebrated during the activities before the Miss World pageant. It awards the contestant with the most relevant and important charity project in her nation. Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar from India was the first Beauty With a Purpose recipient to eventually win the Miss World crown.in 2020 Carmen Suleiman super star Arab .

Miss World beauty contest

Miss World is the oldest running international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth, this pageant is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants—the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions.

Miss World 1994 beauty pageant edition

Miss World 1994, the 44th edition of the Miss World, was held on 19 November 1994 and marked the third consecutive staging of Miss World in Sun City, South Africa. The pageant attracted 87 contestants from around the world. At the end of the night, Aishwarya Rai of India, at the time a 21-year-old architecture student, was crowned the new Miss World. She was crowned by Miss World 1993, Lisa Hanna of Jamaica. In December 2014, Aishwarya Rai was felicitated with Lifetime Beauty With a Purpose Award by Miss World Organisation at the 64th edition of the international beauty pageant for her humanitarian works since winning the crown two decades ago.

Julia Evelyn Morley is a British businesswoman, charity worker and former model. She is the chairman of the Miss World Organization which runs the annual Miss World and biennial Mister World competition. She is the widow of Miss World founder Eric Morley, who organised from the first pageant in 1951 until his death in 2000. Now, instead of girls in bikinis, there is a talent show, sports competition, Beauty With A Purpose contest, and Dances Of The World segment.

Alize Lily Mounter is a Welsh actress, journalist, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss England in 2011. She represented England at the 61st Miss World in London, where she made the Top 7 and was ranked 4th place overall. She received the titles of Miss World Europe, Miss United Kingdom and Miss World Beach Beauty. Later she represented the United Kingdom at Miss International on 21 October 2012 in Okinawa, Japan.

Carina Tyrrell, is a Swiss-British doctor, model, charity ambassador and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss England 2014 and represented England at Miss World 2014. She became a celebrity after making international news for being the first woman from one of the top universities of the world, to participate in the beauty pageant. She remains the most successful Miss England contestant ever, having won four of the ten qualifying rounds in the final of the competition, including the swimwear round. Tyrrell studied medicine at Murray Edwards College at the Cambridge University and received a first class degree, prizes and distinctions.

Anu Namshir born April 12, 1991 is a Mongolian model, graphic designer and beauty pageant titleholder who represented Mongolia at the Miss International 2013, Miss Manzhouli 2014, World Bikini Model 2015, Asian Star Model 2015 Supermodel International 2015, Miss World 2015, Miss Tourism Queen International 2016 pageant. She won the Miss Mongolia 2013 title and was later crowned as World Bikini Model International 2014 and Miss Manzhouli 2014 (winner) in China, Asian Star Model 2015 Supermodel International 2015 (winner) in Korea and Miss World Mongolia 2015. And then she represented Mongolia in the Miss World 2015. On September 26, 2016 she was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International 2016 and awarded Miss Charity. And then December 1, 2016, she has participated first in Goyol 2017 which was organized by Mongolian Designers Association annually was awarded "Photo Model". She worked at Mongolia's Next Top Model show 14th number representing Z24 online ticket reservation through Z24 face.

Catriona Gray Filipino-Australian model, singer, and beauty queen, Miss Universe 2018 winner

Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray is a Filipino-Australian model, singer, visual artist, and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 2018. She is the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe competition. Previously, Gray was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Miss World Philippines 2016.

Manushi Chhillar Indian actress, model, and beauty queen

Manushi Chhillar is an Indian actress, model and the winner of Miss World 2017. She represented the state of Haryana at the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant in which she won. Chhillar is the sixth representative from India to win the Miss World pageant. She has endorsed Club Factory and Malabar Gold and Diamonds, as a brand ambassador. Chhillar is also an actress in Bollywood. She is playing lead role of Princess Samyukta in the historical period drama film Prithviraj.

Shrinkhala Khatiwada Nepalese pageant competitor

Shrinkhala Khatiwada is a beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Miss Nepal World 2018. She represented Nepal in Miss World 2018. She also became the second Nepali after Ishani Shrestha to win Beauty with a Purpose Award, and secured a place in the Top 12 of Miss World 2018. She won the multimedia award in pageant prelims which earned her a place in the final top 30.
