The Sydney County Council (SCC) was a county council established in 1935 to produce electricity and operate the electricity network in a number of municipalities in metropolitan Sydney. While other New South Wales county councils, were formed by proclamation of the Governor, Sydney County Council was established directly by the Gas and Electricity Act 1935; despite the unusual procedure for its establishment, and the fact that special legislative provisions applied to it, it was legally classified as a county council under the same legislation which applied to all other county councils, the Local Government Act 1919. On its establishment it assumed control of the Electricity Department of the Sydney City Council, which was already supplying electricity to other municipalities. In 1952, the SCC lost most its electricity generation functions to the Electricity Commission of New South Wales and retained only its distribution functions. The SCC was merged with other municipal county councils in 1990 to form Sydney Electricity.

The South East Centre for Contemporary Art (SECCA) formerly known as Bega Valley Regional Gallery is a publicly funded art gallery and cultural facility located in the town centre of Bega in south eastern New South Wales, Australia. The gallery showcases contemporary Australian visual culture with up to ten exhibitions annually. In 2016 the gallery expanded its footprint as the cultural outpost on Australia’s Coastal Wilderness and launched two project spaces, one at the Merimbula Airport and one at the Port of Eden Welcome Centre.
The Bega Group is an Australian diversified food and drinks company with manufacturing sites in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria. Founded as an agricultural cooperative in the town of Bega, New South Wales by their dairy suppliers, it became a public company in 2011 when it listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Close to half of shares publicly traded are still held by Bega's farmer-suppliers. It is currently one of the largest companies in the dairy sector in Australia, with a base milk supply in 2018 of approximately 750 million litres per annum.
The 2018 Tathra bushfire was a bushfire that burned between 18 and 19 March 2018 and primarily affected parts of the South Coast region in the Australian state of New South Wales. The fire, understood to have been caused by a failure in electrical infrastructure, began in the locality of Reedy Swamp, near Tarraganda, which spread east towards Tathra in the municipality of the Bega Valley Shire.

The Anchor Palace, originally known as the Kuderlich-Sailer Palace, is a historical monument in Timișoara, Romania. It stands in the Iosefin district, at the intersection of General Ion Dragalina Boulevard and Tudor Vladimirescu Embankment, along the Bega Canal. It got its name from the anchor exposed on its facade, reminiscent of naval trade on Bega.
County councils are special purpose local governments in the Australian state of New South Wales, to which a group of local government areas delegate the provision of certain services. Under current legislation, county councils can only exist for specific purposes, which must be identified by the proclamation of the Governor which establishes them; but, it is possible for a single county council to perform two or more unrelated functions, provided all those functions are specifically enumerated in the proclamation which established it. Each county council has its own budget, assets and liabilities, general manager and staff; the council is not directly elected, but rather composed of delegates of the member local government areas. Although historically county councils were widespread even in metropolitan areas, where they once played a major role in electricity distribution, by the 2020s only nine remained, all but one in regional areas.
