Belvedere is a Neoclassical country house located at Strandvejen 407 in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, some 15 kilometres north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places on 3 January 1989.
The property was originally a copyhold (arvefæste) under Christiansholm. The original Belvedere was built in 1842. [1] The house was adapted for Peter von Scholten in 1848. He had just returned from the Danish West Indies where he had served as governor-general and emancipated slavery immediately prior to his departure from the islands on 14 July 1848. Peter von Scholten was also the owner of a property at Bredgade 45 in Copenhagen. [2] His wife Lise died in 1949 and a few years later he moved to Altona where he lived with his daughter and son-in-law until his death in 1854.
One of Belvedere's later owners was the financier and industrialist Isaac Wulff Heyman. He commissioned the architect Henrik Steffens Sibbern to adapt the building in 1870.
The property was purchased by Ilva-founder Hans Jørgen Linde in 1989. [3] The house was subsequently put through a comprehensive renovation. It received an award from Gentofte Municipality in 1994. [4] In 2011, Belvedere was purchased by Axcel-Managing Partner Christian Frigast.
The house has widen siding. It has a central projection topped by a verenda on the first floor.
Peter Carl Frederik von Scholten was Governor-General of the Danish West Indies from 1827 to 1848.

Sorgenfri Palace is a royal residence of the Danish monarch, located in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, on the east side of Lyngby Kongevej, in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen. The surrounding neighbourhood is called Sorgenfri after it. Only the cellar and foundations survive of the first Sorgenfri House, which was built in 1705 to design by François Dieussart. The current house was built in 1756 by Lauritz de Thurah and later adapted and extended by Peter Meyn in the 1790s. Lauritz de Thurah has also designed buildings which flank the driveway closer to the road.

Sølyst is a former country house located just near the Øresund coast in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, on the northern edge of Copenhagen, Denmark. It now houses the Royal Copenhagen Shooting Society.
The Bellavista housing estate designed by Arne Jacobsen is the clearest example of Bauhaus architecture in Denmark. Completed in 1934, the estate is located just north of Copenhagen, in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, next to Jacobsen's Bellevue Beach, which had been completed a couple of years earlier.
The Søholm Row Houses, designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in Klampenborg just north of Copenhagen, were completed in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Together with his Bellavista developments, the Søholm houses helped to establish Jacobsen's international reputation.
Cottageparken is a public park located on the border between Taarbæk to the north and Klampenborg to the south, adjacent to Jægersborg Dyrehave and Bellevue Beach, on the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is most notable for Den Røde Cottage and Den Gule Cottage, the only surviving buildings of Klampenborg Spa which opened at the site in the 1840s. They are now operated as restaurants. Den Røde Cottage has one star in the Michelin Guide. Until 2017 its chef was Anita Klemensen. The park is located within Klampenborg postal district but in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality.
Kokkedal Slot is a former country house located in Hørsholm north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is now operated as a 62-room, high-end hotel under the name Kokkedal Slot Copenhagen to distinguish it from Kokkedal Slot in North Jutland. The hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SHL) network. It is surrounded by parkland and an 18-hole golf course.
Christiansholm is a historic house in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, some 10 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built by the merchant Just Fabritius and is now owned by the businessman Fritz Schur.
Emiliekilde is a memorial located at the corner of Strandvejen and Emiliekildevej in Klampenborg, Gentofte Municipality, in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was installed by Ernst Heinrich von Schimmelmann to commemorate his first wife, Emilie Caroline, who had recently died of tuberculosis.
Gammel Skovgård is a former country house in Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was originally located at the site where Skovgård School in Ordrup is now located but moved to its current site at Krathusvej 36 when the school was built in the 1950s.
Jægersborg Allé is a major street in the Charlottenlund and Jægersborg neighborhoods of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from Strandvejen in the southeast to a junction just east of Jægersborg railway station in the northwest. The first leg of the road passes through Charlottenlund Forest, and it later follows the north boundary of Bernstorff Park. It passes a number of historic buildings, including Charlottenlund Palace, Bernstorff Palace and Schæffergården.
Carlsminde is a Baroque-style mansion located at Søllerødvej 30 in Søllerød, Rudersdal Municipality, some 20 kilometres north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918. The political party Venstre has been based in the building since 1971 and is currently for sale.
Hotel Phoenix Copenhagen is a hotel located at the corner of Bredgade and Dronningens Tværgade in Copenhagen, Denmark. The first Hotel Phoenix opened at the site in 1848 but closed when it was confiscated by the Germans during World War II. The building was after the war converted into a new headquarters for the Danish Communist Party and the newspaper Land og Folk. The building was acquired by Arp-Hansen Hotel Group in 1990 and reopened as a hotel the following year.. It is mentioned in Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth,
Store Mariendal was a country house at Strandvejen 135 in Hellerup, on the border between Copenhagen and Gentofte municipalities, Copenhagen, Denmark. It was operated as a hotel and entertainment venue in the 1900s and 1910s and served as the residence of Prince Viggo from 1931 to 1970. The building was demolished in 1977 and a housing estate with 121 apartments by the same name is now located at the site.
Hellerupgård, namesake of the district Hellerup as well as the street Hellerupgårdsvej, is a former country house situated at Hellerupgårdsvej 20 in Gentofte Municipality north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The main building from 1802–03 was designed by the Hamburg-based French architectJoseph-Jacques Ramée. who also designed the still existing country houses Sophienholm, Øregård and Frederikslund. The building was demolished in the 1950s and Gammel Hellrup Gymnasium is now located on the site.
Bredgade 45 is a former town mansion situated around the corner from Frederik's Church in the Frederiksstaden district of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally constructed as an extension to the adjacent Moltke Mansion, it owes its current Historicist design to a renovation undertaken by Vilhelm Dahlerup. Notable residents include Governor-General of the Danish West Indies Peter von Scholten, naval officer Steen Andersen Bille, landowner Peder Brønnum Scavenius and businessman and art collector Heinrich Hirschsprung. The property is now owned by Jeudan. Female Founders House, a hub for femakle entrepreneurs, is based in the side wing.
