Tom Snyder was the show's first host, followed by Craig Kilborn, Craig Ferguson, and James Corden. The show originated from Television City in Los Angeles.

On August 17, 2021, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a fifth season and would be moving to Apple TV+. The fifth season premiered on May 27, 2022.
