Bhadradri Thermal Power Station is a proposed power plant project located near Edulla Bayyaram at Manuguru in the Indian state of Telangana.

History

Chief Minister of Telangana Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao laid down foundation stone for this project on 28-March-2015. The project started to help resolve the power crisis in Telangana. [1] TS Govt is planning to make this plant operational within three years. Plant construction is by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

MoEF has given environment clearance to the project on 15.03.2017 [2] and BHEL has start EPC works on war footing to complete the first Unit by 2019. The first unit was synchronised on 19.09.2019, full load was achieved on 20.03.2020 and Trial run completed on 05.06.2020.

Talcher Thermal Power Station

Talcher Thermal Power station is located in Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the Indian state of Odisha Pin.759101. The existing plant was closed on 31 March 2021 with the plans to set up a new plant still in discussion phase. The power plant is one of the coal-based plants of NTPC. The coal for the power plant is sourced from Jagannath Mines of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. Source of water for the plant is from Brahmani River. It has its own railway station and is well connected to three other important stations in close vicinity: Talcher Road, Angul and Talcher Stations. This power plant has been ranked among the best power plants in the country despite being the oldest plant in the state. It has consistently topped the charts in NTPC for the last four years and was also the nation's top power plant in 2015-16.

Kanti Thermal Power Station

Kanti Thermal Power Station also known as George Fernandes Thermal Power Plant Station is located in Kanti, Muzaffarpur, 90 km from Patna, the capital of the Indian state of Bihar. It is wholly owned subsidiary company of NTPC. The share of the company is 100% of the NTPC. The plant was not functional between 2003 and 2013; however, renovation of both older units paved the way for commercial production of electricity by the end of 2013.

The Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) is a coal-fired power station in Pegadapalli, a village in Mancheriyal District of Telangana, India. The power plant has an installed capacity of 1200 MW, consisting of two 600 MW units, and is operated by the Singareni Collieries Company.
