Bickram Ghosh is an Indian classical tabla player.

Ghosh started learning tabla from his father, Pandit Shankar Ghosh. [1]

Ghosh has performed with Ali Akbar Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar. [2]

Ghosh's band, Rhythmscape, which performs neo-fusion music, was founded in 2001. For its tenth anniversary, Rhythmscape collaborated with Greg Ellis to perform in Kolkata and Mumbai, an event organized by Folktronic. [3] The band also released their second album, Transformation, which went on to win the Best Fusion Album at the Indian Recording Arts Awards 2012. [4]

Ghosh performs within Troikala with Assamese folk/indie singer Papon and Scottish singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni. Troikala was curated and organized by British Council in association with Folktronic. [5] He performed as part of a fusion Sufi act, "Sufusion" with vocalists Ambarish Das and Parvati Kumar, keyboardist Indrajit Dey, and drummer Arun Kumar. [6] [7]

Ghosh collaborated with Sonu Nigam to compose the music for the film Jal. [8] Ghosh has scored music for the Mira Nair production, Little Zizou . [9]

Ghosh founded his music company, Melting Pot Productions, in October 2010. [10]

On 1 October 2012, Ghosh won the 2012 Global Indian Music Academy (GIMA) Awards in the Best Pop/Rock Single category for his composition, Vande Mataram, featuring Indian artists including Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan. [11]

In June 2012, Ghosh performed a concert "One World Fusion Extravaganza" at Shilpakala Vedika auditorium in Hyderabad to mark World Music Day. [12] [13]

He appeared in an episode of MTV Roots. [14]

Personal life

He married actress Jaya Seal in 2004, and have 2 boys. [15]

Full Circle: Carnegie Hall 2000 is a live album by Indian musician and composer Ravi Shankar, released in 2001 through the record label Angel Records. Recorded at Carnegie Hall in October 2000 as part of a tour with Shankar's daughter Anoushka, the album contains five tracks and presents two ragas. The concert occurred sixty-two years after Shankar's first performance at Carnegie Hall and commemorated his eightieth birthday; the album was his first live recording in nearly twenty years. Full Circle was produced by Hans Wendl, mastered by Scott Hull, and mixed and engineered by Tom Lazarus. Featured are performances by Tanmoy Bose and Bickram Ghosh on tabla, and Anoushka and Ravi on sitar.

Angaraag Mahanta, known by his stagename Papon, is an Indian playback singer and composer from Assam. Papon has also sung in many languages apart from Assamese like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and Marathi. He is the lead vocalist and founder of the folk-fusion band Papon and The East India Company. He is the son of the noted Assamese singer Khagen Mahanta and Archana Mahanta.

"Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo" is a geet written by Pakistani poet Fayyaz Hashmi. It was composed by Sohail Rana, an eminent Pakistani composer. It was popularized by noted classical vocalist, Habib Wali Mohammad, who also sang it as a film playback singer for the hit Pakistani film Badal Aur Bijli (1973). The song was also sung by famous ghazal singer Farida Khanum in 1993 for Pakistan Television and repeatedly in her live public concerts. It is sung in Raag Yaman Kalyan.

The Music Room is a 2014 album composed by the Indian singer-songwriter Sonu Nigam and tabla percussionist Bickram Ghosh. The album was released on 16 December 2014 on the Times Music label. The album, which was over four years in the making, is in a style the duo calls Muddy Electronica, according to an interview that appeared in the Mumbai Mirror.

Sourabh Goho is an Indian Tabla Player who performs Hindustani classical music and fusion music. He belongs to Farukhabad gharana. He is the son of renowned Harmonium Maestro, Pt. Jyoti Goho.
