Brigitte Nganaye (born 28 October 1973) is a Central African Republic middle-distance runner and sprinter. She competed in the women's 800 metres and 1500 metres at the 1992 Summer Olympics, setting a national record in the latter event. [1]

Nganye set her 800 metres personal best in 1991, running 2:12.43 minutes. [2]

She entered in both the 800 metres and 1500 metres at the Barcelona Olympics. In the 800 m, she ran 2:15.70 to place 6th in her quarter-final. In her 1500 m quarter-final the following month, Nganye ran 4:33.57 to finish 13th. Her 1500 m time set a national record that still stands as of 2025. [3] [2] [4]

Nganaye transitioned to sprinting events in the mid to late 1990s, setting Central African Republic national records in both Olympic relay distances. At a February 1993 meeting in Bangui, she set the national 4 × 400 metres relay record, anchoring her country's team to run 3:57.4. At a July 1999 competition in Garoua, Nganaye ran the second leg of a national 4 × 100 metres relay team to set another Central African Republic record of 49.3 seconds. [5]

She represented the Central African Republic at the 1999 All-Africa Games in the 400 metres, placing 8th in her semi-final there. [6]
