The Brilliance BS2 or FRV and FSV is a car produced by the Brilliance Auto in the People's Republic of China.
It was originally announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 as a pre-production car [2] and then at the Beijing Auto Show in 2008, [3] and was given its European premiere at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Prior to its public launch, it was named Brilliance A1. [4]
It was designed by Italdesign Giugiaro and developed in China as a 5-door small family hatchback to complement the larger Brilliance BS4 and BS6. [5] A 4-door saloon version was also developed and is sold as the Brilliance FSV.
The FRV Cross is a crossover style variant with different trim but sharing the same mechanicals as the FRV and FSV. [6]
The BS2 is not widely exported, and despite its display at Frankfurt and Geneva, the car was never launched in Europe due to the bad press received by the crash test results of the larger BS6 and Brilliance withdrew from European.
The BS2 received a facelift in 2010 with alterations to the front bumper and grille. [7]
The BS2 was originally powered by a Mitsubishi 1.6 L 4-cylinder 16-valve petrol engine (Euro III), producing 101 bhp (75 kW; 102 PS). [8] This engine was later replaced with a Euro IV rated 1.5 L engine of Brilliance's own design. [9]

The Mitsubishi RVR is a range of cars produced by Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi from 1991 to 2002 and then from 2010 until present. The first two generations were classified as compact multi-purpose vehicles (MPV), and the model introduced in 2010 is a subcompact crossover SUV.
The Kia Ceed is a compact car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia Motors since 2006 exclusively for the European market. The Ceed was first unveiled in 28 September 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. The first generation was available with a choice of four engines, five trim levels and either manual or automatic transmission. In mid-2007, the station wagon version called the cee'd_sw was launched followed by the three-door pro_cee'd in early 2008. The second generation of the cee'd was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Kia presented the third generation Ceed. In September 2019, Kia also unveiled the XCeed, a crossover SUV based on the third generation Ceed.
The Hyundai i30 is a small family car manufactured by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company in Nošovice, Czech Republic, since 2007. The i30 shares its platform with the Kia Cee'd, available as a three-door hatchback (2012–2017), five door hatchback, five-door estate and five-door Liftback (2017–present), with a choice of three petrol engines and two diesel engines, either with manual or automatic transmission.
Brilliance BS6, in China sold as Zhonghua Zunchi, and more recently as the Brilliance M1 is a car produced by Brilliance Auto in the People's Republic of China. It was originally developed by Italdesign Giugiaro and launched as the Brilliance Zhonghua in December 2000.
The Peugeot 508 is a large family car launched in October 2010 by French automaker Peugeot, and followed by the 508 SW, an estate version, in March 2011.
The Brilliance BS4 was a four-door notchback sedan produced by Brilliance Auto in the People's Republic of China, where it is known as the Zhonghua Junjie. The car was scheduled for launch in Germany, Europe's largest national car market, in 2007.
The Kia Venga is a five-door, five passenger, front-engine, front-drive, high-roof mini MPV manufactured by Kia Motors for the European market across a single generation (2009–2019).
The eighth generation Honda Accord for Japanese and European markets is a mid-size car. It went on sale in mid-2008 for the 2009 model year. The Japanese-built Accord is also sold in Australia and New Zealand as the Accord Euro. It is also available in US, Canada, and Mexico as the second-generation Acura TSX. From late 2009, it is available as Honda Spirior in China. While not as large as the North American Accord, sold in Japan as the Honda Inspire, this generation Accord is not in compliance with Japanese Governments regulations concerning exterior dimensions, and is not classified as a compact sedan in Japan.
The Ford Focus , also known as the Focus Mk III, debuted at the 2010 North American International Auto Show as a 2012 model. The cars shown were a 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback, also debuting a new 2.0-litre direct injection I4 engine. A 5-door estate (wagon) was previewed at the Geneva auto show a month later.
The Chevrolet Aveo is a subcompact car manufactured since 2002, marketed worldwide in 120 countries under seven brands. The second generation Sonic began with the 2012 model year and was also marketed as the Aveo; production ended in October 2020.
The Ford Focus Mk 2 is an automobile which was produced by Ford from 2005 to 2010. It was launched at the Paris Motor Show on September 25, 2004 as a three and five-door hatchback and an estate, although the new car was previewed, in 4-door saloon form, as the 'Focus Concept' developed by Ford Europe at the Beijing Motor Show in mid-2005.
The Škoda Rapid is a name used for models produced by the Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto. The name was previously used in the 1930s for the Škoda Rapid (1935–47) and in the 1980s for the rear engine Škoda Rapid (1984) coupé. Today, the Rapid nameplate is used for three separate small family cars: a 5-door liftback and a hatchback originating from Europe, a 4-door sedan from China based on the same platform, and India's version of a smaller sedan Rapid based on the PQ25 platform.
