Burmeistera sodiroana is a species of plant in the family Campanulaceae. It is endemic to Ecuador. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss. [1]
It was first published by an Austrian-Hungarian botanist Alexander Zahlbruckner in Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 13: 534 in 1915. [2]
The specific epithet of sodiroi refers to Luis Sodiro (1836–1909), who was an Italian Jesuit priest and a field botanist, who collected many plants in Ecuador. [3]
