Carol Corbu (born 8 February 1946) is a retired Romanian athlete who mostly competed in the triple jump. In this event he won the 1973 European Indoor Championships as well as two medals at the European Championships outdoor.

His personal best jump was 17.12 metres, achieved in June 1971 in Turin. [1] This ranks him third among Romanian triple jumpers, only behind Marian Oprea and Bedros Bedrosian. [2]

At the 1972 Olympics Corbu competed both in the long jump and triple jump. [1]

The men's triple jump was one of four men's jumping events on the Athletics at the 1964 Summer Olympics program in Tokyo. It was held on 16 October 1964. 36 athletes from 23 nations entered, with 2 not starting in the qualification round. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. The event was won by Józef Szmidt of Poland, the third man to repeat as Olympic champion in the triple jump. Just as in 1960, the Soviet Union took silver and bronze behind Szmidt.

Paraskevi "Voula" Papachristou is a Greek triple jumper and long jumper. She won two gold medals at the European Athletics U23 Championships and took the third place at the 2016 World indoor Championships. She was removed from the Greek team for the 2012 London Olympics by the Greek Olympic Committee after making a racist comment online. At the 2016 Summer Olympics' final in Rio de Janeiro, she took the 8th place. In 2018 she was the European Champion in Berlin with a jump of 14,60 metres.

These are the results of the women's triple jump event at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada which occurred August 3–12. At the 2001 World Championships there were a total of twenty two events that women competed in, eight of which were in the same category, field events, as the triple jump. Twenty four total women competed in the qualification round which contained Group A and Group B, composed of twelve athletes each. The athletes came from nineteen different nationalities including two from the United States and Romania, and three from Russia. Out of the twenty four women in the qualification round, twelve got to move on to the final round where the gold, silver, and bronze medals were given out.

The men's triple jump competition at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico took place on October 16–17. Thirty-four athletes from 24 nations competed. The event was won by Viktor Saneyev of the Soviet Union, the first time the nation had won gold in the event.
