Carried to Dust is the sixth studio album from Tucson, Arizona indie rock/Americana band Calexico, released September 9, 2008. It features a number of guest musicians like Iron & Wine, Tortoise's Doug McCombs, Pieta Brown, and Amparo Sanchez.
Following the release of Carried to Dust, the band toured throughout the United States, the British Isles and Western Europe. [12]
In 2012 it was awarded a gold certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, [13] which indicated sales of at least 75,000 copies throughout Europe. As of 2009 it has sold 26,000 copies in US. [14] In France it has sold 4,570 copies. [15]

Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona-based Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records, while their 2005 EP In the Reins, recorded with Iron & Wine, reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Their musical style is influenced by traditional Latin sounds of mariachi, conjunto, cumbia, and tejano mixed with country, jazz, and post-rock.
Hot Rail is the third studio album by the rock band Calexico. It was released in 2000 through Quarterstick Records. A limited deluxe edition was released on November 15, 2010.

Los Super Seven is an American supergroup which debuted in 1998. According to Allmusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine, "Los Super Seven isn't a band, per se – it's a collective, organized by manager Dan Goodman, who comes up with a concept for each of the group's albums and assembles a band to fit." In the Reins is a joint EP by Calexico and Iron & Wine, released by Overcoat Recordings on September 13, 2005. Iron & Wine's Sam Beam wrote all of the songs, which were recorded by the two bands together at Wavelab Studio in Tucson, Arizona. The album peaked at #135 on the Billboard 200. Both later collaborated on a cover of Bob Dylan's "Dark Eyes" for the I'm Not There soundtrack, while Calexico's Joey Burns was featured on Iron & Wine's third LP, The Shepherd's Dog.

Mission Bell debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 40,000 copies in its first week, which is the lowest total for a #1 album in the Soundscan era. These sales broke the record set by Cake's Showroom of Compassion when it sold 44,000 two weeks previous. The following week Mission Bell dropped from #1 to #26, the fourth-longest drop from #1 on the Billboard 200 as of January 2017. It shares this honor with the 1975's 2016 album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It.

Mexrrissey is a Mexican band co-founded by Camilo Lara and Sergio Mendoza. Inspired by Morrissey and The Smiths' songs, Camilo and Sergio along with: Ceci Bastida, Jay de la Cueva, Alejandro Flores, Chetes and Ricardo Nájera began this musical project in 2015. Their album, "No Manchester" (2016) contains Morrissey songs translated into Spanish with a mix of Latin beats and sounds added to the music. After their first show in Mexico City, the band began with a UK tour in April 2015. After their first tour in the UK they have since gone back and have also been on other tours through the US and Australia. Future shows will be happening in October and November 2017 through the US and Argentina. During the spring of 2018, Mexrrissey conducted a UK tour promoted as "La Reina Is Dead".
