Cheyanne Evans-Gray (born 15 July 1998) is a British sprinter, who won the 60 metres event at the 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships. She is the British Universities and Colleges Sport record holder in the 60 metres event.

Personal life

Evans-Gray has studied sports science at the University of East London. [1] She worked at Ladbrokes until 2021, when she left to focus on her athletics career. [2]

Career

Evans-Gray gave up running, but at the age of 20, she rejoined Croydon Harriers athletics club. [2] At the 2020 British Indoor Athletics Championships, she went out in the heats of the 60 metres event. [2] That year, she won the 60 metres event at the British Universities and Colleges Sport championships in a record time of 7.28 seconds. [1] [3] After the event, she was the second highest ranked British woman in the event. [3] Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Evans-Gray had been hoping to qualify for the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships, and to compete in the 100 metres trial event for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Evans-Gray won the 60 metres event at the 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships. [2] [5] She ran both the semi-final and final in a time of 7.25 seconds. [2] She qualified for the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships, [1] where she was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 60 metres event, despite setting a personal best time of 7.19 seconds. [6]

Richard Kilty is a British sprinter who competes both Indoor and Outdoor across all the sprint events including 60 metres, 100 metres,150 metres, and 200 metres. A noted fast starter, and considered a specialist in both 60 metres and relays, he is a former World and double European Champion indoors at 60 metres, and a silver medalist in the World Athletics Championships. On 18 February 2022 it was announced that Kilty and his teammates Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, Zharnel Hughes, and CJ Ujah would be stripped of their 4 × 100 metres relay 2020 Summer Olympics silver medals after Court of Arbitration for Sport found CJ Ujah guilty of a doping violation.

Eilish McColgan Scottish runner (born 1990)

Eilish McColgan is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the reigning Commonwealth games 10000m champion, winning the title at Birmingham 2022 in a games record time of 30:48.60; a two-time European medallist after winning a silver in the 5000 metres in 2018, and a bronze for the indoor 3000 metres in 2017. McColgan holds the European record in the 10 km road race, and British records for the 5000 m, 5 km and half marathon. She also holds European best in the 10 miles.

Geraldina Rachel "Dina" Asher-Smith, OLY is a British sprinter. She is the fastest British woman on record and has been listed in the Powerlist as one of the UK's most influential people of African-Caribbean descent, most recently in the 2021 edition. Asher-Smith has won a gold medal in the 200 m, silver in the 100 m, and another silver in the 4×100 m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking in the individual races her own British records with results which still stand. Aged 24, she was the first Briton to win three medals at a World Championships. At the relay event, she earned medals from the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and also from the 2013 and 2017 World Championships.

Matthew Hudson-Smith British sprinter

Matthew Hudson-Smith is a British track and field sprinter who specialises in the 400 metres. He holds, as of July 2022, the British record, running a personal best of 44.35 seconds for the distance set at Eugene, Oregon in the 2022 Diamond League meeting. He was the 2018 European Champion in 400 metres, and a member of the gold winning teams in the 4 x 400 metre relay at the 2014 European Athletics Championships and 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Serita Solomon

Serita Solomon is a British track and field athlete competing in the hurdles. She was the bronze medallist in the 60 metres hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2015. Solomon holds a personal best of 12.87 seconds for the outdoor 100 metres hurdles and represented England in that event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake British sprinter

Nethaneel Joseph Mitchell-Blake is a British sprinter who specialises in the 200 metres. He was the 2013 European Junior Champion and his personal best of 19.95 seconds ranks him as the second-fastest in Britain of all-time in the event. He is only the second Briton, after Adam Gemili to break both 10 seconds for 100 metres and 20 seconds for 200 metres. Andrea Joan Caron Lynch is a British former track and field sprinter who competed mainly in the 100 metres. A two-time Olympian, the peak of her career was becoming a bronze medallist in the 100 m at the 1974 European Championships and a double silver medallist in the 100 m and 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games. A former British record holder in the 100 m, she has a hand-timed best of 10.9 seconds in 1974 and an auto-timed best of 11.16 secs in 1975. Her 200 metres best is 23.15 secs in 1975.

Yasmin Miller British track and field athlete (born 1995)

Yasmin Miller is a British track and field athlete who has competed in sprint and hurdles events. She competed in the 100 metres hurdles for Great Britain at the age of 16 at the 2011 World Youth Championships in Athletics. She won the same event at that year's Commonwealth Youth Games and was also a member of the winning 4 × 100 metres relay team. She repeated the latter success in the 2013 European Athletics Junior Championships. Miller has enjoyed some success at national-level hurdling, winning two bronze, a silver and gold in the 60 metres hurdles at the British Indoor Athletics Championships and a silver and a bronze in the 100 m hurdles at the British Athletics Championships.

2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships Indoor track and field competition for British athletes

The 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships were the national indoor track and field competition for British athletes, held on 26 and 27 February 2022 at Arena Birmingham. The competition served as a qualification event for the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships, and on 1 March, 33 British competitors were announced for that championships, and this was increased to 36 a couple of days later.

Charlie Dobson is a British sprinter, who came second in the 200 metres event at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships.

Hannah Brier is a British sprinter who won the 200 metres event at the 2022 British Indoor Athletics Championships. She competed at the 2014 and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
