Daisy Bertenshaw (born December 2, 1996), also known as Chinchilla (stylised in all caps), is an English singer, songwriter and rapper. [1]
Born and raised in London, both her parents worked as actors. While she was at school, she played in a band with six of her friends. She enrolled in a creative artistry course at Metropolis Studios, run by the music college ACM, she graduated in 2018 with a degree in Music Industry Practice. [1]
Chinchilla independently released her debut single "Elements" in 2019, and her debut EP Awakening in 2020, receiving positive coverage with Clash's Robin Murray describing it as "remarkable introduction" and "an empowering document from the pop polymath". [2] Released on August 13, 2021 Bertenshaw's second EP Moon Maintenance for Dummies was met with positive reviews from music critics. "ASBO" magazine's Connor Fogarty wrote that "[Chinchilla] true to her eclectic, one-of-a-kind style, each track delivers a generous handful of different genre influences and bravado, ranging all the way from country to nineties R&B." Bertenshaw auditioned for the twelve series of The Voice UK , and at the blind auditions she performed "I Put a Spell on You". Judges will.i.am, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs turned around for her. She opted to join Anne-Marie. In the callbacks she competed against Lil Shakz, Ryan Barton and Nia Ekanem performing the song "Virtual Insanity" where she was eliminated.[ citation needed ]

In September 2023, Bertenshaw released her most successful single to date "Little Girl Gone". The track managed to peak at number 91 on UK's 'update' chart [4] as well as it helped her to become the first female soloist in the Billboard 's Emerging Artists chart's six-year history to debut at No. 1. [5] The track also serves as the lead single for her third extended play.[ citation needed ] On March 19, 2024, Bertenshaw released "MF Diamond". When speaking about the track's music video, Chinchilla stated "I wanted to make something inclusive without being corny or cliché. Something about elderly/older women makes me think of diamonds." [6] Her third extended play Flytrap was announced in May 2024, and subsequently released in June that year. [7]
Bertenshaw's music touches on alternative pop and R&B, but she herself described her music as "feisty-pop". [8] She also stated that "the biggest word that ties together my whole sound and project is empowerment."[ citation needed ] Bertenshaw cited Michael Jackson, Prince, Little Mix, Stefflon Don and Anne Marie as her influences. She also stated that her "biggest" influences are Beyonce, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. [9] [10]

"Clarity" is a song by Russian-German DJ Zedd featuring the vocals of singer Foxes. It was released on 14 November 2012 as the third single from the former's debut studio album of the same name. The song was written by Zedd, Matthew Koma, Porter Robinson and Skylar Grey. It was released as iTunes Single of the Week on 2 October 2012, and as an 4-track remix EP on 12 February 2013, by Interscope Records. Zedd released an extended mix of the song exclusively on Beatport on 18 February 2018.

"Handmade Heaven" is a song recorded and written by Welsh singer and songwriter Marina for her fourth studio album, Love + Fear (2019). The song was produced by Joel Little and serves as Marina's first solo release following a name change in 2018. It was released for digital download and streaming as the album's lead single on 8 February 2019 by Atlantic Records. Two versions of a remix of the song, produced by Irish DJ Krystal Klear, were released in March 2019. The song's lyrics were inspired by climate change and serve as an ode to Marina's passion for nature. Remi Francis Wolf is an American singer and songwriter from Palo Alto, California. As a senior in high school, she appeared as a contestant on American Idol in 2014. After completing her undergraduate music studies in 2018, she made her solo debut with the self-released extended play You're a Dog! in October 2019. BMG Rights Management and Minogue's company Darenote released it as the second single from her fifteenth studio album Disco (2020) on 24 September 2020, and further distributed on various digital and physical formats on later dates. Minogue, Michelle Buzz, and Teemu Brunila co-wrote the song with producers Daniel Davidsen and Peter Wallevik, collectively known as PhD. Be Right Back is the third extended play by British singer Jorja Smith. The record was released on 14 May 2021 by FAMM. Self described as a "waiting room" in preparation for her sophomore album, Be Right Back features writing and production from long time collaborators Joel Compass and Ed Thomas, amongst others, as well as guest vocals from British-Nigerian rapper Shaybo. Written and recorded over a two-year period, Be Right Back sonically adopts experimental song structures and lyrically revolves around the complexity of ideal womanhood, relationships and self-awareness.
