The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), also known as the Missouri Synod, is a traditional, confessional Lutheran denomination in the United States. With 1.8 million members, it is the second-largest Lutheran body in the United States, behind the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The LCMS was organized in 1847 at a meeting in Chicago, Illinois, as the German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, a name which partially reflected the geographic locations of the founding congregations.

Its headquarters was in Geneva, Switzerland. They merged with the Reformed Ecumenical Council in 2010 to form the World Communion of Reformed Churches.
The Evangelical and Reformed Church (E&R) was a Protestant Christian denomination in the United States. It was formed in 1934 by the merger of the Reformed Church in the United States (RCUS) with the Evangelical Synod of North America (ESNA). A minority within the RCUS remained out of the merger in order to continue the name Reformed Church in the United States. The Communion of Churches in Indonesia Communion of Churches in Indonesia abbreviated as PGI, is a fellowship organization of Protestant churches in Indonesia. This fellowship was founded on 25 May 1950 in Jakarta under the name Council of Churches in Indonesia (DGI)[1] as a manifestation of the desire of Protestants in Indonesia to reunite the Protestant Church as the fragmented Body of Christ. Therefore, PGI stated that the aim of its formation was to create one Protestant Church in Indonesia. It is a member of the World Council of Churches.
