The Protestant Church in Indonesia (Indonesian : Gereja Protestan di Indonesia, GPI) is a Reformed church; it is a member of World Communion of Reformed Churches. [2]
The Protestant Church in Indonesia was formed in Ambon, Maluku, in 1605 under the name of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands Indies, in Dutch De Protestantsche Kerk in Nederlandsch-Indië. It is the first Protestant and Reformed church to be founded in Asia. In 1619, the headquarters was moved to Batavia. The denomination inherited the missions left by the Portuguese. The church supported missions all over Indonesia. Its territories cover several areas like the Maluku Islands, Minahasa, Java, Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara.
In the 1930s, the church spread rapidly. The church composed of 12 autonomous churches.
In the 20th century, it adopted a more Presbyterian church order. It has 4,800 congregations and 3.1 million members. [3] [4]

More than 70% of the population of Botswana is Christian. This ecumenical Christian body was formed in June 2010 by the union of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) and the Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC).

The Rheinische Missiongesellschaft zu Bremen (RMG) started missions in Kalimantan, now known as Borneo, in 1838 among Dayak Ngaju and Maanyan tribes. The work was almost destroyed because of a riot against the Dutch rule. The development was slow. In 1901, there were only 2,000 Christians. After World War I, the Rheinische Mission had to hand over the work to the Basel Mission.
Evangelical Christian Church of the Land of Papua is a Protestant denomination in Indonesia, particularly in western Papua region.
The Protestant Church of Kanaky New Caledonia, known until 2013 as the Evangelical Church in New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands, was formed in 1958, the denomination has announced its 50th anniversary in 2008. The London Missionary Society started missions work in the 18th century. At the turn of the 19th century the London Missionary Society gave way to the Paris Evangelical Missionary Society. The church currently has 90 parishes and 100 house fellowships with 30,000 members. The church is a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches and has relationships with the Maói Protestant Church, Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand and the Presbyterian Church in Vanuatu.
The Church of Christ in Japan is an existing religious denomination that has 13,102 members and 137 congregations, and is a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches. It sponsors missionaries in Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Evangelical Community in Congo was established by Swedish missionaries, the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden, in 1881. The center of their activities was in Lower Congo, where British and American Baptist had already established mission points. The Svenska Missionsförbundet and the Baptists shared the beliefs of credobaptism. The church become independent and it shares a theological seminary in Kinshasa. The first year of the new denomination was marked by a revival of Pentecostal movement, but later it became more conscious of their Reformed heritage. It is a member of the World Council of Churches and the World Communion of Reformed Churches.
The Evangelical Church of the Republic of Niger was founded in 1961. The congregations have considerable autonomy, so unity was very difficult to establish. It has 3,000 members, 31 congregations, and 59 house fellowships. A member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Partner church relationship with the Reformed Church in America was also established.
Indonesian Protestant Church in Buol Toli-Toli is a Protestant Church group in Buol and Toli-Toli, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. In the 19th century Europeans and Indonesians immigrated to this part of the island. The Minahasan ministers established the Protestant church. In 1937 the region was transferred to the Minahasan Church. Because the distance the church didn't remained in the Minahasan Church. In 1965 it became an independent denomination. It has 200 congregations and 51 fellowships, and 23,000 members. It is a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches.
The Christian Reformed Church in Eastern Africa started in 1992, when several pastors left the Reformed Church of East Africa who wanted to focus on fields beyond Kenya.

The Protestant missions started in the 19th century in Morocco. In 1975 the Scottish origin Southern Morocco Mission was started. In 1922 the Reformed Church in France begun mission efforts especially among French. After the independence from France in 1956 the Reformed Church in France decided to form an independent church in 1958. This become the Evangelical Church in Morocco or the Église Évangelique au Maroc in French. Since 1963 missions were prohibited.
