Peçanha studied at the Lutheran University of Brazil and represented his country at four consecutive Summer Universiades, winning six medals. He has also represented Brazil at two Olympics, reaching the semi-final on both occasions.
Amine Laâlou is a Moroccan track and field athlete, who specializes in middle-distance running. He has represented his country at the Summer Olympics on two occasions; in 2004 and 2008. He began his career as an 800 metres specialist and made his global debut at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics. She is a three-time gold medallist at the South American Championships in Athletics, being the 1500 m champion in 2003 and 2006, as well as a 4 × 400 metres relay champion.
