Christopher Hart is a Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives,serving since 2007. Hart served in the Army National Guard from 1989 to 1998. [1]
The 1984 United States presidential election was the 50th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday,November 6,1984. Incumbent Republican President Ronald Reagan defeated Democratic former Vice President Walter Mondale,in a landslide,winning 525 electoral votes and 58.8 percent of the popular vote. The lynching of Willie Earle took place in Greenville,South Carolina on February 16,1947,when Willie Earle,a 24-year-old black man,was arrested,taken from his jail cell and murdered. It is considered the last racially motivated lynching to occur in South Carolina. The subsequent trial gained much media attention,and was covered by Rebecca West for The New Yorker. The trial resulted in the acquittal of 31 white men who had been charged with Earle's murder.
