Elections to the City of Edinburgh Council were held on 1 May 2003, the same day as the other Scottish local government elections and the Scottish Parliament general election.
Local government in Scotland is organised through 32 unitary authorities designated as councils which consist of councillors elected every five years by registered voters in each of the council areas.
The Scottish Parliament is the devolved unicameral legislature of Scotland. Located in the Holyrood area of the capital city, Edinburgh, it is frequently referred to by the metonym Holyrood.

Elections to Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council, UK were held on 2 May 2002 to elect members to the council. All seats were up for election following boundary changes since the last election in 1998. The Labour party easily kept overall control of the council. Overall turnout was 22.76%.
The Bromley Council election of 2002 took place on 2 May, coinciding with 174 other council elections across Britain. The election saw the Conservatives make sweeping gains after the council almost went to NOC in 1998.
Elections to Newham London Borough Council in London, England were held on 4 May 2006. The whole council, including the directly elected Mayor, was up for election for the first time since the 2002 election. The Labour Party maintained control of the council.
Elections to South Lanarkshire Council were held on 1 May 2003, the same day as the other Scottish local government elections and the Scottish Parliament general election.
Elections to Glasgow City Council were held on 1 May 2003, the same day as the other Scottish local government elections and the Scottish Parliament general election.
Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 6 May 2010. All 63 seats were up for election. Turnout was 58%. The Labour Party retained control of the council, increasing its majority. The elections took place on the same day as other local elections and the United Kingdom general election.
Elections to Newham London Borough Council were held in May 2002. The whole council was up for election. Turnout was 25.49%. Labour won all but one seat. The sole opposition councillor was Alan Craig of the Christian Peoples Alliance.
Elections to Wyre Borough Council were held on 5 May 2003. All 55 councillors were elected from 26 wards in elections held every four years. The Conservative Party kept hold overall control of the council. For this election boundary changes had taken place which resulted in reducing the number of seats by one.
Elections to Lancaster City Council took place on 3 May 2003. The whole council was up for election and in remained in No Overall Control.
The 2014 Camden Council election took place on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Camden Council in London. This was on the same day as other local elections.
The 2014 Croydon Council election took place on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Croydon Council in England. This was on the same day as other local elections.
The 2014 Newham London Borough Council election took place on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Newham London Borough Council in England. This was on the same day as other local elections.
The 2003 Aberdeen City Council election took place on 1 May 2003 to elect members of Aberdeen City Council. The election was the last one using the established 43 single member wards using the plurality, before the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004.
Elections for the Scottish Borders Council took place on Thursday 1 May 2003, alongside the wider Scottish local elections.
Elections to West Lothian Council were held on 3 May 2007, the same day as the other Scottish local government elections and the Scottish Parliament general election. The election was the last one using the old FPTP based ward system, and saw Labour retaining their majority on the council.

Elections to Mid Bedfordshire District Council were held on 1 May 2003. All 53 seats were up for election. Councillors elected would serve a four-year term, expiring in 2007. The Conservative Party retained overall control of the council, winning 37 of 53 seats on the council. The Conservatives won 7 seats unopposed.
