Clock is a mobile app included with iPhone since iPhone OS 1, [1] and with iPad since iOS 6. [2]

Features

The app has world clock, alarms, stopwatch, and timer tabs. [3] [4] [5] In iOS 10, a Bedtime tab was added. [5]

World Clock

The World Clock section allows the user to access the temperature, time, and pressure of major cities of their choice. [4] The user can add new cities by tapping a plus icon at the top of the screen and typing in the name of the city the user wants to add. The user can also remove cities by swiping left and clicking the delete button. [6]

Alarms

The alarms section allows the user to view all of their alarms on in a week view, [4] create new alarms, [7] and turn off and on existing alarms. [7]

Stopwatch

The stopwatch section allows the user the ability to time events and see how long they take. The app also allows the user to pause, reset, or use the stopwatch's lap feature. [8]

Timer

The timer section allows the user to set a timer to count down to a specific time. When the timer reaches zero, an alarm will be sounded. [8]

Bedtime

In iOS 10 and later versions, there is a Bedtime feature which allows the user to get better sleep. This is done by determining when the user would like to wake up, how many days the alarm should go off, how many hours of sleep the user would like, and whether the user would want a bedtime notification. [9] [10] This feature also integrates with the Health application to track sleep data. [10] With the release of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, this feature was incorporated into the Alarms tab on iPhones and removed from iPads.

Other features

Since iOS 7, the app icon shows the user the current time. [11] Since iOS 10, the interface sports a dark theme [12] and a new stopwatch face accessed by swiping to the left. [13]

Windows Alarms & Clock

Alarms & Clock is a time management application included with Windows and Windows 10 Mobile with four key features: alarms, world clocks, timers, and a stopwatch. The features are listed on a wireframe ribbon menu. The app is similar in functionality and design to the Clock app on iOS. Alarms & Clock was available on mobile devices for over a decade before it was available on PCs with the introduction of Windows 8.1. Pre-installed iOS apps, referred to in the App Store as 'Built-In Apps', are a suite of mobile applications developed by Apple Inc. which are bundled with iOS and installed by default or through a system update. Many of the default apps found on iOS have counterparts on Apple's other operating systems macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS which are modified or similar versions the iOS application. As each app is integrated into the operating system itself, they often feature greater support for system features than third-party alternatives and are quick to adapt new features of iOS.
