Coke Wave is a collaborative mixtape by rappers French Montana and Max B. The mixtape was announced in 2008 and released on February 6,2009. [1] It features guest appearances from Mak Mustard,Dame Grease,Meeno,E-Snaps and Maino. Producers on the project include Dame Grease,J.Cardim,Young Los and Rome.
Coke Wave received mixed reviews from music critics. While initially met with skepticism,it has managed to garner a sizeable cult following among listeners. David Drake of Complex magazine commended the "strategic alignment" between French and Max B, [2] and complimented Max's songwriting and "slurred,sing-song style" comparing it to a "slick,casual delivery of a drunken street poet." [3] In contrast,Infamous O of XXL magazine was not a fan of the former's slurred delivery style or attempts at harmonizing,but complimented French for his energy and style. [4] David Drake praised the artists' and producer Dame Grease's ability to take instrumentals from varying genres and reinventing them into new molds,such as Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" which became the inspiration for "I Warned U" or Sting's "Englishman in New York" which became the track "We Run NY". The latter of which,with its Branford Marsalis saxophone and French Montana hook,he termed "one of the grittiest,catchiest New York street anthems in recent memory." [2] [3]
In 2013,Complex magazine listed the mixtape at #33 on its list of "The 50 Best Rapper Mixtapes". [3] In 2016, Pitchfork listed the mixtape at #49 on its "The 50 Best Rap Mixtapes of the Millennium" list. [5]

Karim Kharbouch, better known by his stage name French Montana, is a Moroccan-born American rapper. Born and raised in Morocco, he immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 13. He embarked on a musical career in 2002, releasing a slew of underground material until signing a joint-venture record deal with Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group in 2012.
Rich Forever is the second mixtape by American rapper Rick Ross. It was released on January 6, 2012. It became one of the most downloaded hip hop mixtapes of all time. "Stay Schemin'" is a song by American rapper Rick Ross featuring Drake and French Montana, released as a single from his 2012 mixtape Rich Forever. The track was released as a digital download from iTunes on April 17, 2012. It is a hip hop song that interpolates its chorus, sung by French Montana, from an unreleased Nas song titled "Day Dreamin, Stay Schemin", which covers the Kurtis Blow song, "Daydreamin'", with new lyrics.
Dreamchasers 2 is the ninth mixtape by American rapper Meek Mill. It was released on May 7, 2012, by Maybach Music Group and Warner Bros. Records, and also released for digital download on DatPiff. It serves as the second installment in the Dreamchasers series, following Dreamchasers (2011). Rory William Quigley, known professionally as Harry Fraud, is an American record producer. Primarily a hip hop producer, Fraud began producing at an early age and began interning at a recording studio after graduating high school. First discovered by French Montana during a recording session in Chinatown in early 2009, Fraud has gone on to become a fixture in the New York underground and mixtape scene. He gained mainstream attention when his song with French Montana "Shot Caller" became one of the most added tracks on urban contemporary radio during 2011–2012.
Lionel Du Fon Pickens, better known by his stage name Chinx, was an American rapper. He was a member of The Rockaway Riot Squad alongside fellow slain rapper Stack Bundles. Chinx later joined French Montana's Coke Boys Records, gaining recognition for his appearances on the Coke Boys mixtapes and the Cocaine Riot mixtape series. He was killed in a drive-by shooting in Jamaica, Queens on May 17, 2015. Two men have since been arrested in the case.
Orlando Jahlil Tucker, better known by his stage name Jahlil Beats, is an American hip hop record producer. He has produced for artists such as Puff Daddy, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, Tyga, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, Bobby Shmurda, T.I., and 50 Cent among others.
"Versace" is the debut single by American hip hop group Migos. It was released in July 2013, by Quality Control Music. The track, which was included on their mixtape Y.R.N. (2013), was produced by Zaytoven. Following a remix by Canadian rapper Drake, the song became popular and peaked at number 99 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Beach House EP is the debut extended play (EP) by American singer Ty Dolla Sign. It was released on January 21, 2014, by Atlantic Records. Jeffery Lamar Williams, known professionally as Young Thug, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Known for his eccentric vocal style and fashion, he is considered an influential figure in modern hip hop and trap music, and a pioneer of the mumble rap microgenre. Williams embarked on a musical career in 2011, releasing a series of mixtapes beginning with I Came from Nothing. In 2013, he signed with fellow Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane's 1017 Records and gained further attention and praise for his debut mixtape with the label, 1017 Thug, released in February of that year.
Tyler Bryant, better known as his stage name Velous, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer from Kingston, New York. He is mostly known for co-writing Chris Brown and Drake's "No Guidance" which received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B song, and is currently 8x platinum. Velous is also known for co-producing Kanye West's hit single "All Day", which was Platinum-certified in the US and subsequently procured a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song. In 2016, Velous wrote and produced "Flipmode." In 2017, "Flipmode" became a single on Fabolous' Summertime Shootout 3 and served as Velous' debut feature. “When I heard the track it was a dope vibe, so I knew I wanted to become a part of the song. Chris added his touch while we were on tour together and the rest is history,” said Fabolous.
Coke Boys is the tenth mixtape by American rapper French Montana, and the first installation in his "Coke Boys" series of mixtapes. It was released on September 15, 2010. The mixtape features collaborations with rappers Three 6 Mafia, Waka Flocka Flame, Akon, Gucci Mane, Fat Joe, Wiz Khalifa and French's fellow Coke Boys Chinx, Coke Boy Cheezy Dior, Droop Flip and Brock among others.
Cocaine Mafia is a collaborative mixtape by rappers French Montana, Juicy J and Project Pat. The mixtape was announced in mid 2010, and released on December 19, 2011. It features guest appearances from DJ Paul, Chinx Drugz, Gucci Mane and Akon.
MC4 is the twenty-first mixtape by American rapper French Montana. MC4 was originally intended to be released as his second studio album. It was released on November 5, 2016, by Coke Boys Records, Bad Boy Records, Maybach Music Group and Epic Records. However, the album's release was canceled after Target unofficially released the album on CD on its original release date of August 19, 2016, two months before the album was set to release, which was later leaked online in its entirety. Subsequently, the album was heavily bootlegged. It was French Montana's last project released by Maybach Music Group before leaving the label.
