Corentin Jallon is an Algerian-French Kickboxer. [2] He is the former World Kickboxing Network (WKN) Cruiserweight World Champion [3] as well as the Muaythai & K-1 FFSCDA France -91kg Champion, [4] King of the Ring -91kg Champion [5] [6] [7] and he has competed in SUPERKOMBAT. [8] Jallon became the WKN World Champion in 2013 after defeating Cristian Bosch in Buenos Aires, Argentina. [9] [10] [11]

Early life

Jallon was born in France and was introduced to kickboxing at a later age. He started training with his coach Badri Rouabhia at AJSR in Saint Raphaël and competed in his first match at the age 26 years old. [3]

Career

Kickboxing

On Juin 30, 2012, Jallon faced Zinedine Hameur-Lain at the Pro fightKarate 4 [1] in the heavyweight category and lost on points. [12]

On May 24, 2014, Jallon fought Sebastian Ciobanu -95 kg to a draw with at SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix II 2014 in Constanta, Romania. [8]

On May 10, 2014, Jallon avenged his previous 2012 loss and rematched Zinedine Hameur-Lain at King of the Ring 3 in Longeville-lès-Metz, Metz, France, winning by TKO in the first round. [5]

On September 23, 2017, Jallon faced Romain Falendry and lost by decision. [13]

On December 2, 2017, Jallon faced the Spanish Ivan Valenzuela at La 13ème Nuit Du Muay Thai in France and won by decision. [14]

On April 27, 2019, Jallon faced Gabriele Casella at Fighting Spirit 7 [15] in Rome, Italy and lost by decision. [16]

On December 14, 2019, Jallon faced Anthony Valerde under K-1 rules in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, France [17] and lost by decision. [18]

WKN

On October 13, 2012, Jallon had his first shot at a World Kickboxing Network title, when he faced 2007 WAKO World Championship finalist and PFL fighter Sadibou Sy. [19] [20] The match was for the WKN European Cruiserweight title in Berns, Stockholm. [21] Both athletes threw some hard strikes, but ultimately the fight went to the judges, declaring Sadibou Sy victorious by decision. [22]

In 2013, during a noticeable winning streak, Jallon was offered to fight against the current WKN Cruiserweight Champion (-195 lbs/-88.5 kg), Argentinian Cristian Bosch. [23] On August 4, 2013, Jallon faced Bosch in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first round started wrong for Jallon received some heavy damage from the champion, resulting in two standing 8 counts. [24] In the third round, Jallon landed an elbow on Bosch's face, securing the knockout win [3] and become the new WKN Cruiserweight Champion. [25] [26]

On May 15, 2015, Jallon defended his WKN cruiserweight title against the Czech Ondrej Srubek in Prague, winning on points. [27]

On September 12, 2015, Jallon put his WKN title on the line when he faced the Slovak Adrian Valentin in Saint-Raphaël, France. [11] Jallon shook Valentin early with some punches, but the Slovak recovered well and was able to land many shots from the outside in the following rounds. [28] Adrian Valentin was declared winner by decision, capturing the WKN Cruiserweight title. [29]

Lethwei

In 2017, Jallon challenged Dave Leduc, Openweight Lethwei World Champion under traditional Lethwei rules. [30] [31] The traditional challenge was accepted and on December 10, 2017, Jallon faced Leduc inside the Thein Pyu Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. [32] Just before their first exchange, Leduc performed the Lekkha moun and Jallon automatically replied with a flurry of punches, which Leduc countered with an elbow counterattack. [33] Jallon was floored several times during the fight and used his two minute injury time-out, but finished the bout on his feet, making it a draw according to Lethwei rules. [34] Leduc retained the openweight Lethwei World championship title. [35] [36]

Dave Leduc is a Canadian former Lethwei fighter. He is a former six-time Lethwei world champion who held the openweight Lethwei Golden Belt and was undefeated under traditional rules KO to win. In 2014, Leduc first gained widespread notoriety by winning his fight in the controversial Prison Fight inside a maximum security prison in Thailand.

Too Too was a Burmese Lethwei fighter who competed in World Lethwei Championship. He was the former WLC Middleweight World champion and was undefeated under traditional Lethwei rules, holding the 75 kg Lethwei Golden Belt from 2015 until his death in 2023. He also competed in a Lethwei superfight at Kunlun Fight 25 in Slovakia. Too Too died while in custody of the Burmese military known as the Tatmadaw on April 26, 2023.

The year 2017 was the second year in the history of the ILFJ, a Japanese Lethwei promotion and the year started with Lethwei in Japan 2: Legacy. The events are streamed online by FITE TV, Abema TV in Japan and through television agreements with MNTV in Myanmar.

La Fosse aux Tigres is an 2017 Canadian television documentary about professional fighter Dave Leduc and his journey to Lethwei. The biographical documentary follows Leduc on his way to become world champion and captures his historic fight against Tun Tun Min in 2016 at Thein Pyu Stadium, where Leduc became Openweight Lethwei World Champion and the first non-Burmese to win a Golden Belt. La Fosse aux Tigres was filmed in 3 countries: Canada, Thailand and Myanmar. The documentary was produced by Nish Media and released on November 9, 2017 on Canal D.

Gabriele Casella is an Italian kickboxer. He is the former WAKO World Light Heavyweight champion, the former WMO World Light Heavyweight champion, and two time Italian national champion.

Cyrus Washington is an American kickboxer, Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Lethwei fighter. He is former WKA, WMF, WKBF and PK-1 Muay Thai World Champion, as well as former WBC Muaythai USA Champion, WMC and Lumpinee Stadium title contender. In 2012, he competed in the Emmy nominated Thailand VS Challenger TV Series. Washington received worldwide attention for being one of the first successful foreigners to compete in Lethwei in Myanmar.
