Cross Infinite World is a California-based language localization company specializing in Japanese to English translation and publication of Japanese media such as light novels and manga.

History

Founded in 2016, Cross Infinite World is a localization company working directly with Japanese authors, artists, and manga artists. [1] Cross Infinite World released their first light novel series My Favorite Song ~The Silver Siren~ [2] [3] on May 16, 2016, in digital format. Shortly thereafter, they announced the acquisition of The Violet Knight light novel series.

Originally known to be aiming for female-oriented light novels [4] Cross Infinite World announced their plans to cross into publishing manga. [5]

On August 23, 2016, Cross Infinite World announced the licensing of two manga series, Gleam and Little Hero. [6] [7]

On May 2, 2017, Cross Infinite World announced the licensing of the light novels: Akaoni: Contract with a Vampire, I Became the Secretary of a Hero!, and the manga Yusen Ruten: An Era of Red. [8]

On January 8, 2018, Cross Infinite World expanded their retail platform to Google Play Books and iBooks. [9] [10]

On August 22, 2019, Cross Infinite World announced that they would release of printed versions of their digital light Novels. Beginning with eight different light novel series. [11] [12]

On October 12, 2021, Cross Infinite World announced that they would be making audiobook versions of their licenses in partnership with Podium. [13] [14]

On April 30, 2022, Cross Infinite World began to expand their print platform to include Right Stuf Anime. [15]

As of December 2022, the site hosts close to 1,000,000 novels, has over 2,300,000 registered users and it receives over 1 billion page views per month.

In Another World with My Smartphone, also known as IseSuma (異世スマ) for short, is a Japanese light novel series written by Patora Fuyuhara and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. It began serialization online in 2013 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō until it was acquired by Hobby Japan for publishing the print edition as a light novel. J-Novel Club has licensed the series for an English release, releasing each novel in six weekly parts since February 2017. A manga adaptation by Soto began its serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace in November 2016. The manga is licensed in English by Yen Press. An anime television series adaptation by Production Reed aired from July to September 2017. A second season by J.C.Staff aired from April to June 2023.

J-Novel Club is a publishing company specializing in the translation of Japanese light novels into English. It streams light novels and manga in regular installments before publishing finalized e-books. As of August 2021, J-Novel Club has licensed over 150 light novel and manga series and have published more than 800 e-books. It has licensed titles from many Japanese publishers, including Hobby Japan, Overlap, Kodansha, Drecom, Earth Star Entertainment, Kadokawa Corporation, Micro Magazine, Shufunotomo, and Softbank Creative. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, also known as Regarding Reincarnated to Slime and by the contraction TenSura (転スラ), is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story follows Satoru Mikami, a salaryman who is murdered and then reincarnated in a sword and sorcery world as a titular slime, who goes on to gather allies to build his own nation of monsters.

Isekai is a subgenre of portal fantasy. It includes novels, light novels, films, manga, anime, and video games that revolve around a displaced person or people who are transported to and have to survive in another world, such as a fantasy world, game world, or parallel universe without the possibility of returning to their original world. Isekai is one of the most popular genres of anime, and isekai stories share many common tropes – for example, a powerful protagonist who is able to beat most people in the other world by fighting. This plot device typically allows the audience to learn about the new world at the same pace as the protagonist over the course of their quest or lifetime. If the main characters are transported to a game-like world, the genre can overlap with LitRPG.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, also known as HameFura (はめふら) for short, is a Japanese light novel series written by Satoru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Nami Hidaka. It began serialization online in July 2014 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was acquired by Ichijinsha, who published the first light novel volume in August 2015 under their Ichijinsha Bunko Iris imprint. Thirteen volumes have been released as of September 2023. The light novel has been licensed in North America by J-Novel Club.

Miho Okasaki is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Okayama Prefecture who is affiliated with I'm Enterprise. She debuted as a voice actress in 2017, playing mostly background roles in anime series, as well as playing some roles in a number of video games. In 2018, she played her first main roles as Miku Nishio in the anime series Ongaku Shōjo and Rimuru Tempest in the anime series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

It was serialized online between January 2018 and February 2021 on the Japanese novel self-publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was acquired by Aichu Publishing, who published the first light novel volume digitally in February 2019 under their GL Bunko imprint.

<i>Cheat Slayer</i> Japanese manga series

Killing the People Reincarnated into the Other World: Cheat Slayer is a Japanese isekai manga written by Kakegurui author Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Aki Yamaguchi. The action is set in a parallel fantasy world, and revolves around a boy who confronts characters who have been abusing supernatural powers ("cheats"), which they gained after dying and being reincarnated as his world's new inhabitants. The series debuted on June 9, 2021, in Fujimi Shobo's shōnen magazine Monthly Dragon Age. However, the series was cancelled after just one chapter when readers highlighted the similarities between the villains in Cheat Slayer and heroes in similar works.

Bibliophile Princess is a Japanese light novel series written by Yui and illustrated by Satsuki Shiina. It was serialized online from September 2015 to January 2022 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Ichijinsha, who has released seven volumes since July 2016 under their Iris NEO label.

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady is a Japanese light novel series written by Piero Karasu and illustrated by Yuri Kisaragi. It was originally serialized online on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō between February 2019 and August 2021. It was later acquired by Fujimi Shobo who published the series in print since January 2020 under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Harutsugu Nadaka has been serialized in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh since July 2020. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in North America by Yen Press. An anime television series adaptation produced by Diomedéa aired from January to March 2023.

The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior is a Japanese light novel series written by Tenichi. The series originated on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in April 2018, before being published in print with illustrations by Suzunosuke by Ichijinsha beginning in June 2019. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Bunko Matsuura, was serialized on the Zero-Sum Online website between March 2020 and March 2022. An anime television series adaptation by OLM aired from July to September 2023.
