Cycling is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Cycling at the Island Games started in 1985, with women competing from 1997.
The minimum age for competitors is 17 in the year of the event. Each island can enter up to 5 male and 3 female competitors per event.

Cycle sport is competitive physical activity using bicycles. There are several categories of bicycle racing including road bicycle racing, cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing, track cycling, BMX, and cycle speedway. Non-racing cycling sports include artistic cycling, cycle polo, freestyle BMX and mountain bike trials. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling and international competitive cycling events. The International Human Powered Vehicle Association is the governing body for human-powered vehicles that imposes far fewer restrictions on their design than does the UCI. The UltraMarathon Cycling Association is the governing body for many ultra-distance cycling races.
Christopher Miles Boardman, is a British former racing cyclist. A time trial and prologue specialist, Boardman won the inaugural men's World time trial championship in 1994, won the individual pursuit gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics, broke the world hour record three times, and won three prologue stages at the Tour de France.
The Island Games are biennial international multi-sports events organised by the International Island Games Association (IIGA). Competitor teams each represent different island communities which are IIGA members. Currently all competitor teams represent non-sovereign territories of European nations—some within European waters and some further overseas.
Football has been a regular event since 1989 at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies. A 5-a-side competition for under-16s was held at the inaugural event on the Isle of Man, and the success this minor competition brought to the games meant senior men's football was included on the itinerary for the first time in the Faroe Islands, in 1989. Women's football was included on the games' schedule for the first time in 2001.
The XV Island Games were held in Bermuda from 13 to 19 July 2013. Bermuda was selected to host the Games by default after Prince Edward Island withdrew from the International Island Games Association.
Cycling at the 2011 Island Games was held from 26 June–1 July 2011 at the Military Road, VentnorTown and Cheverton Farm.
The 2008 World University Cycling Championship is the 5th Word University Cycling Championship sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The championship took place in Nijmegen, Netherlands, from 21 to 25 May 2008. Prague and Bangkok were also candidate cities to organize the championship. The NOC*NSF chairman Erica Terpstra opened he World Championships at the opening ceremony on 21 May. Athletes from 25 countries competed in the disciplines mountain bike cross-country, mountain bike marathon, individual time trial and road race. It was the first time in student sports that there was held a World Championship Mountain Biking.
Cycling, for the 2013 Island Games, took place throughout the whole of Bermuda. This sport was contested from the 14 to 18 July 2013.
Leah Kirchmann is a Canadian racing cyclist, who rides for National Cycling League team Denver Disruptors. She competed in the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence. At the 2014 Global Relay Canadian Road Championships, held in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, she won the road race, time trial and the criterium, becoming the first woman to win all three titles in the same year.

Sigurd Haveland is a Gibraltarian triathlete and cyclist. He is a nutrition consultant by profession.
Alice Barnes is an English racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Human Powered Health.
The XVI Island Games was held in Jersey, Channel Islands, from 27 June to 3 July 2015. This was the second time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1997.
The XVII Island Games was held in Gotland, Sweden, from 24 June to 30 June 2017. This was the second time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1999.
Squash is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Volleyball is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
The XIX Island Games were to have been held in Guernsey in 2021 however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the games were postponed. This occasion will be the third time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1987, the second in 2003.

Kimberley Ashton, also known as Kim Ashton, is a cyclist and former badminton player from Jersey. She represented Jersey in badminton at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and cycling at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She has also competed at the Island Games.
