Golf at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies, was first played in 1991 with the Ladies competitions starting in 1997. It has now become a regular sport in the Island Games.

The Island Games are biennial international multi-sports events organised by the International Island Games Association (IIGA). Competitor teams each represent different island communities which are IIGA members. Currently all competitor teams represent non-sovereign territories of European nations—some within European waters and some further overseas.
The United Kingdom has been represented at every modern Olympic Games, and as of the 2020 Summer Olympics is third in the all-time Summer Olympic medal table by both number of gold medals won and overall number of medals. London has hosted the Summer Olympic Games three times: in 1908, 1948, and 2012.
Figure skating was first contested in the Olympic Games at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Since 1924, the sport has been a part of the Winter Olympic Games.
Football has been a regular event since 1989 at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies. A 5-a-side competition for under-16s was held at the inaugural event on the Isle of Man, and the success this minor competition brought to the games meant senior men's football was included on the itinerary for the first time in the Faroe Islands, in 1989. Women's football was included on the games' schedule for the first time in 2001.
Guernsey participates in its own right in the Commonwealth Games.
The archery events at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held over an eight-day period from 27 July to 3 August. Four events took place, all being staged at Lord's Cricket Ground in front of temporary stands built to accommodate up to 6,500 spectators.
Great Britain, or in full Great Britain and Northern Ireland, represented by the British Olympic Association (BOA), competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016 and the team of selected athletes was officially known as Team GB. British athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, France, Greece, and Switzerland, though Great Britain is the only country to have won at least one gold medal at all of them. The team represented the United Kingdom, the three Crown Dependencies, and the thirteen British Overseas Territories, ten of whom sent representatives.
Golf competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 16 to 19 at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. A total three golf events were held: a singles event for men and women, along with a mixed team event. Golf made its debut at the Pan American Games, after the sport was added to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Tennis is a sport that has been included in the program of the Island Games, which is a multi-sport event held every two years between teams representing islands that are members of the International Island Games Association. The event includes both men's and women's singles and doubles competitions, and the format is similar to that of other international tennis tournaments. The first Island Games were held in 1985 and included tennis as one of the sports. Since then, the sport has been included in every edition of the games.
Table Tennis is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Squash is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Volleyball is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Judo was an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies. Judo first appeared as a sport at the Island Games in 1989
Gymnastics is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Sailing is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Cycling is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies.
Swimming is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies. Swimming at the Island Games started in 1985 and has been a sport in the games on every occasion since then. Minimum age to compete is 13
Archery is an event at the Island Games, the biennial multi-sports event for island nations, territories and dependencies. There have been men's, women's and team events at almost every games since 1987. Modern competitive archery is governed by the World Archery Federation, abbreviated WA.
The XIX Island Games were to have been held in Guernsey in 2021 however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the games were postponed. This occasion will be the third time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1987, the second in 2003.
The 1963 European Amateur Team Championship took place 3–7 July at Falsterbo Golf Club in Falsterbo, Sweden. It was the third men's golf European Amateur Team Championship.
