John Henry "J.H." Taylor was an English professional golfer and one of the pioneers of the modern game of golf. Taylor is considered to be one of the best golfers of all time. He was a significant golf course architect. Taylor helped to found the British PGA, the world's first, and became respected for his administrative work. He also wrote two notable golf books.
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. It is a private members-only club based in St Andrews in Scotland. It was previously also known as The R&A, but since 2004 The R&A has been a separate organisation. Until 2004 it was one of the governing authorities of the game, but the new organisation, The R&A, was spun off with this function.
Vestmannaeyjar is a municipality and archipelago off the south coast of Iceland.
Robert Trent Jones Sr. was an English–American golf course architect who designed or re-designed more than 500 golf courses in 45 U.S. states and 35 countries. In reference to this, Jones took pride in saying, "The sun never sets on a Robert Trent Jones golf course." He is often confused with the famous amateur golfer Bobby Jones with whom he worked from time to time. Jones received the 1987 Old Tom Morris Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, GCSAA's highest honor. Also in 1987, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
The Amateur Championship is a golf tournament which has been held annually in the United Kingdom since 1885 except during the two World Wars, and in 1949 and 2019 when Ireland hosted the championship. It is one of the two leading individual tournaments for amateur golfers, alongside the U.S. Amateur. It normally has the widest international representation of any individual amateur event, with 38 golf federations from all six continents represented in the 2018 championship.

The headquarters of Golf Digest is in New York City relocated from Connecticut. On May 13, 2019, Discovery, Inc. acquired Golf Digest from Condé Nast, in order to integrate with GolfTV.

The Reykjavik Golf Club is a golf club located 10 km east of Reykjavik, Iceland. The club was established in 1934 and is the oldest and largest golf club in Iceland. It has hosted many European and Scandinavian tournaments including major events such as the European Youth and European Seniors Tour Championships. It was originally named Golf Club Iceland since it was the only golf club in Iceland at the time. However, as other clubs opened such as Akureyri Golf Club in 1935 and Westman Islands Golf Club in 1938, the name was changed to Reykjavik Golf Club.
The Westman Island Golf Club is a golf club located on the Westman Islands, on the island of Heimaey off the southern coast of Iceland. The club was established in 1938 as a nine-hole course and is the third oldest golf club in Iceland. The course was expanded to 18 holes in the early 1990s by Hannes Thorsteinsson. It is the southernmost golf course in Iceland and is located in between an extinct volcano and the Atlantic Ocean.
