North Omo Zone was a zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. It was named after the Omo River, which flows in the western area of the former zone. In 2000 it was split into three zones: Dawro, Gamo Gofa, and Wolayita; and Basketo and Konta became special woredas.
Were Ilu, is a woreda in Amhara Region, Ethiopia. This woreda is named for one of the subgroups of the Wollo Oromo that colonized the area but integrated in the Amhara culture. Its previous name was Wasl(ዋስል) Part of the Debub Wollo Zone, Were Ilu is bordered on the southwest by Jama, on the west by Legahida, on the northwest by Legambo, on the north by Dessie Zuria, on the east by the Abuko, and on the southeast by the Wanchet which separates it from the Semien Shewa Zone. Towns in Were Ilu include Kabe, Were Ilu and Weyin Amba; a historic landmark is Mekane Selassie, the site of a medieval church destroyed. The woreda of Legahida was separated from Were Ilu.

Part of the Wolayita Zone, Damot Gale is bordered on the southwest by Sodo Zuria, on the northwest by Boloso Sore and Damot Pulasa, on the north by the Hadiya Zone, on the east by Diguna Fango, and on the southeast by Damot Weyde. The administrative center of Damot Gale is Boditi. Damot Pulasa woreda was separated from Damot Gale.

Part of the Misraq Gojjam Zone, Bibugn is bordered on the south by Sinan, on the west by Dega Damot woreda in the Mirab Gojjam Zone, on the northwest by Goncha, and on the east by Hulet Ej Enese. Towns in Bibugn include Digua Tsion, Weyin Wuha and Wabirr. Digo tsion (ድጎፅዮን) is the center of Bibugn wereda. There are over 15 kebelles in Bibugn wereda; among those, Debiresina is one of a kebelle that found in the north part.

Faggeta Lekoma is a woreda in Amhara Region, Ethiopia. The woreda is named in part after two former districts: Faggeta, best known as the location for the Battle of Faggeta, where Ras Mikael Sehul with the help of Goshu of Amhara and Wand Bewossen defeated Fasil of Damot; and Lekoma, where Emperor Susenyos quashed a revolt of the local Agaw in 1614. Part of the Wolayita Zone, Boloso Sore is bordered on the south by Sodo Zuria and Damot Sore, on the west by Boloso Bombe, on the northeast by the Kembata Tembaro Zone, on the northeast by the Hadiya Zone, on the east by Damot Pulasa, and on the southeast by Damot Gale. The administrative center is at Areka. Boloso Bombe and Damot Sore woredas were separated from Boloso Sore.

By air, the distance from Addis Ababa is 246 km. Finote Selam, the "Pacific Road", is the name given by Emperor Haile Silassie during the Italian invasion on Ethiopia. Formerly its name was Wojet. Now Finote Selam is the capital city of West Gojjam Zone. This town has a longitude and latitude of 10°42′N37°16′E with an elevation of 1917 meters above sea level.

Kercheche or is a town in Diguna Fango woreda, Wolayita Zone of Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region. Kercheche is about 10 km (6.2 mi) north of Bedessa and about 8 km (5.0 mi) southwest of Bitena on the road of Sodo-Dimtu Hawassa. The approximate distance from the city of Addis Ababa to the town is 362 km (225 mi) on Addis-Hawassa-Dimtu-Sodo road. It is 38 km (24 mi) from Sodo, the capital of Wolayita Zone. The coordinate point of Kercheche lies between 6°57'21"N 37°59'29"E. The amenities in the town are 24-hours electric light, pure water service, kindergarten, primary school, high school, all time market, health stations and others.
