Damot Sore is a woreda in South Ethiopia Regional State of Ethiopia. Part of the Wolayita Zone Damot Sore is bordered on the southeast by Sodo Zuria, on the west by Kindo Koysha, on the northwest by Boloso Bombe, and on the north by Boloso Sore. The administrative town of the wereda is Gununo. Damot Sore was separated from Boloso Sore woreda.
Based on the 2019 population projection conducted by the CSA, [1] this woreda has a total population of 131,078, of whom 63,845 are men and 67,233 women; 6,124 or 6.08% of its population are urban dwellers. The majority of the inhabitants were Protestants, with 62.47% of the population reporting that belief, 31.15% practiced Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, and 5.47% were Catholic. [2]
North Omo Zone was a zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. It was named after the Omo River, which flows in the western area of the former zone. In 2000 it was split into three zones: Dawro, Gamo Gofa, and Wolayita; and Basketo and Konta became special woredas.

The administrative center is at Areka. Boloso Bombe and Damot Sore woredas were separated from Boloso Sore.

The administrative center of Kindo Koysha is Bele Town. Kindo Didaye woreda was separated from Kindo Koysha.

By air, the distance from Addis Ababa is 246 km. Finote Selam, the "Pacific Road", is the name given by Emperor Haile Silassie during the Italian invasion on Ethiopia. Formerly its name was Wojet. Now Finote Selam is the capital city of West Gojjam Zone. This town has a longitude and latitude of 10°42′N37°16′E with an elevation of 1917 meters above sea level.

It is a Part of the Wolayita Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Diguna Fango is bordered on the southwest by Damot Weyde, on the west by Damot Gale, on the north by the Hadiya Zone, on the northeast by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Bilate river, which separates it from Sidama Region. The administrative center of the woreda is Bitena Town; the other major towns in the woreda include Dimtu, Kercheche, and Edo. Diguna Fango was separated from Damot Weyde woreda in 1998 E. C.

Mount Damota or Mount Damot is the highest peak in Wolayita, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region, Ethiopia with altitude of nearly 2,750 meters (9,020 ft) above the sea level. Mt. Damota area is found in Wolaita Zone between Damot Gale, Boloso Sore, and Soddo Zuria districts. Mt. Damota is a source of many streams flowing to different districts in radial pattern namely: Hamessa, Waja (river), Bisare, Gazina and other rivers.

Bayra Koysha is the woredas in Wolayita Zone of the South Ethiopia Regional State in Ethiopia. Bayra Koysha was established in 2019 from the other surrounding woredas. Bayra Koysha is bordered by Sodo Zuria on east, Damot Sore on north, Kawo Koysha on west and on south Humbo woredas. The administrative town of this woreda is Beklo Segno.
Firew Altaye Gebremedhin or ፍሬው አልታዬ ገብረመድህን was born on 2 August 1966. He was an Ethiopian politician and second chief administrator of Wolayita Zone, from 2002 to 2004 and he was succeeded by Amanuel Otoro. He served as member of Ethiopian parliament from 2001 to 2002.
