David Raymond Mehan is an Australian politician who was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the member for The Entrance for the Labor Party at the 2015 New South Wales state election. [2]
Mehan previously worked in the construction industry as an engineering geologist specialising in landslides and earthquakes. He also contested for the seat of Dobell in the 2004 federal election but lost to the sitting member at the time Ken Ticehurst. In addition,Mehan has previously contested for his current seat in the 2011 election. [3] [4] He was appointed as a Parliamentary Secretary in 2023.

Christopher "Chris" Peter Hartcher is an Australian politician. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1988 to 2015,representing the electorates of Gosford (1988–2007) and Terrigal (2007–2015). He represented the Liberal Party for most of his career,serving as its deputy state leader from 2002 to 2003,and in the O'Farrell Ministry as Minister for Resources and Energy,Special Minister of State and Minister for the Central Coast. In 2013,he resigned to sit as an independent following his implication in an ongoing Independent Commission Against Corruption inquiry,and retired at the 2015 state election.

Elections to the 55th Parliament of New South Wales were held on Saturday,26 March 2011. The 16-year-incumbent Labor Party government led by Premier Kristina Keneally was defeated in a landslide by the Liberal–National Coalition opposition led by Barry O'Farrell. Labor suffered a two-party swing of 16.4 points,the largest against a sitting government at any level in Australia since World War II. From 48 seats at dissolution,Labor was knocked down to 20 seats—the worst defeat of a sitting government in New South Wales history,and one of the worst of a state government in Australia since federation. The Coalition picked up a 34-seat swing to win a strong majority,with 69 seats–the largest majority government,in terms of percentage of seats controlled,in NSW history. It is only the third time since 1941 that a NSW Labor government has been defeated. It was also notable in that many of Labor's safest seats,such as the seat of Newcastle,were won by the Liberal Party for the first time in history.
Christopher Spence,an Australian politician,was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing The Entrance for the Liberal Party from the 2011 New South Wales state election until 19 February 2014 when he moved to the parliamentary crossbench and sat as an independent after the Independent Commission Against Corruption heard evidence that Spence may have breached electoral funding laws. He retired in 2015.

An election for the leadership of the New South Wales branch of the Australian Labor Party was held between 7 and 29 June 2019. The election was triggered by the resignation of Leader Michael Daley on 25 March 2019. The election was a combined vote by the party membership and the Labor members of the Parliament of New South Wales,with each component weighted equally. The party members were sent their ballots on 7 June and had until 21 June to return them,while the parliamentary caucus met on 29 June to cast their votes.
