Stephen Kamper (born in Sydney) is an Australian politician who was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the member for Rockdale for the Labor Party at the 2015 New South Wales state election. [2] Kamper is currently the Minister for Sport,Minister for Lands and Property,Minister for Small Business,and Minister for Multiculturalism in the Minns ministry. [3]
With the retirement of Frank Sartor in the seat of Rockdale at the 2011 New South Wales state election,Labor's national executive selected Kamper as the candidate,causing friction with the local branch. [1] John Flowers of the Liberal Party won the seat in its landslide victory.
Three years later in March 2014,a rank and file ballot was conducted to determine the candidate but Mr Kamper was the only nominee. [1] At the 2015 election,Kamper won back the seat for Labor. He is currently the opposition's joint head of the Waste Watch committee.
As a result of the shadow ministry reshuffle following Chris Minns' election as Leader of the Opposition,Kamper was appointed Shadow Minister for Property,Shadow Minister for Small Business,and Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism.
Kamper was sworn in as Minister of his existing portfolios,in addition to Sport,following Labor's victory in the 2023 New South Wales state election.
Kamper is married to Magda and together they have five children and four grandsons. [1] He attended Sans Souci Public School and James Cook Boys High School in Kogarah [4] and prior to entering the parliament was a senior partner in Kamper Chartered Accountants. [5]

Jodi Leyanne McKay is a former Australian politician who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of New South Wales from June 2019 until May 2021. She previously served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly,representing Strathfield for the Labor Party from 2015 to 2021. McKay also previously represented Newcastle for one term from 2007 until her defeat at the 2011 election. Between 2008 and 2011,McKay held a number of junior ministerial responsibilities in the Rees and Keneally governments,including serving as the Minister for the Hunter,Tourism,Small Business,Science and Medical Research,Commerce,and Women,and Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Cancer). Elections to the 55th Parliament of New South Wales were held on Saturday,26 March 2011. The 16-year-incumbent Labor Party government led by Premier Kristina Keneally was defeated in a landslide by the Liberal–National Coalition opposition led by Barry O'Farrell. Labor suffered a two-party swing of 16.4 points,the largest against a sitting government at any level in Australia since World War II. From 48 seats at dissolution,Labor was knocked down to 20 seats—the worst defeat of a sitting government in New South Wales history,and one of the worst of a state government in Australia since federation. The Coalition picked up a 34-seat swing to win a strong majority,with 69 seats–the largest majority government,in terms of percentage of seats controlled,in NSW history. It is only the third time since 1941 that a NSW Labor government has been defeated. It was also notable in that many of Labor's safest seats,such as the seat of Newcastle,were won by the Liberal Party for the first time in history.
Kenneth George Booth was a New South Wales politician,Treasurer,and Minister of the Crown in the cabinets of Neville Wran and Barrie Unsworth. From 1981 to 1988 he was the Treasurer of New South Wales. An election for the leadership of the New South Wales branch of the Australian Labor Party was held between 7 and 29 June 2019. The election was triggered by the resignation of Leader Michael Daley on 25 March 2019. The election was a combined vote by the party membership and the Labor members of the Parliament of New South Wales,with each component weighted equally. The party members were sent their ballots on 7 June and had until 21 June to return them,while the parliamentary caucus met on 29 June to cast their votes.
