The discography of Dimmu Borgir, a Norwegian symphonic black metal band, consists of nine studio albums, four extended plays, one compilation album, six singles and three music videos.
Dimmu Borgir was formed in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv in Oslo, Norway and released their first extended play, Inn i evighetens mørke (English: Into Eternal Darkness), in 1994 shortly followed by their début studio album, For all tid (English: For All Time), in the same year. Two years later, in 1996, they released their second studio album Stormblåst (English: Stormblown) under Cacophonous and was their final album sung entirely in Norwegian until its re-recording in 2005 under Nuclear Blast. The band's first release under Nuclear Blast was their third studio album Enthrone Darkness Triumphant and was also their first album to make it into the charts; peaking in its seventh week in the Finnish charts at number 26 [1] and debuting in the German charts at number 75. [2] Before the release of their fourth studio album, Spiritual Black Dimensions ; in 1999, Dimmu Borgir released the compilation album Godless Savage Garden to, according to the band, "hold fans over while waiting for the next full-length, Spiritual Black Dimensions." [3] Two years later, in 2001, they released their fifth studio album, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia , and a further two years later their sixth and first album to chart in the United States; [4] Death Cult Armageddon . In 2005 the band released the rerecording of their second studio album under the title Stormblåst MMV followed by their first concept album In Sorte Diaboli , in 2007, which debuted in at number one in the Norwegian album charts [5] and at number 43 in the Billboard 200, making them the first Norwegian band since a-ha to crack the United States Top 50. Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The band has been through numerous lineup changes over the years; vocalist Shagrath and rhythm guitarist Silenoz are the only original members who still remain.
Leaves' Eyes is a symphonic metal band from Germany and Norway. They were formed in 2003 by Liv Kristine, formerly the lead singer of Theatre of Tragedy, and the entire line-up of Atrocity. To date, the band has released eight studio albums, a single, six EPs, one live album and a DVD.
Stian Tomt Thoresen, known professionally as Shagrath, is a Norwegian musician. He is the vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and a founding member of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir and Also, founding member, rhythm guitarist and bassist of Chrome Division.
Vesania was a Polish extreme metal band formed in 1997 by Orion, Daray and Heinrich. Later members were Annahvahr and Hatrah, who left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Siegmar.
Tony Laureano is a heavy metal drummer originally from Puerto Rico. He has played for a number of metal bands including Dimmu Borgir, Nile, Angelcorpse, Malevolent Creation, God Dethroned, Acheron, Aurora Borealis, Belphegor, Nachtmystium, 1349 and Brujeria.
Stormblåst is the second studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It was released on 25 January 1996 through Cacophonous Records, re-released in 2001 by Century Media, and completely re-recorded in 2005, released as Stormblåst MMV.
Mustis is the pseudonym of Øyvind Johan Mustaparta, a Norwegian keyboardist best known for his work in the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, as well as the black/thrash metal band Susperia.
Silenoz is a Norwegian guitarist who is a founding member, along with Shagrath and Tjodalv, of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, of which he is the primary songwriter. He is also guitarist for the death metal supergroup Insidious Disease.
Simen Hestnæs, better known by his stage name ICS Vortex or simply Vortex, is a Norwegian musician. He is the vocalist of the similarly named band ICS Vortex, the avant-garde metal band Arcturus and the doom metal band Lamented Souls. He is also a vocalist and the bass guitarist to the heavy metal band Borknagar, and the former bass guitarist and clean vocalist for the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir.
Tom Rune Andersen, also known by his stage name Galder, is a Norwegian guitarist and vocalist. He is from the small town of Jessheim, north of Oslo. He is a founding member of the melodic black metal band Old Man's Child as well as the lead guitarist of Dimmu Borgir from 2000 to 2024. In 1993, under the stage name Grusom, he, Jardar, and Tjodalv created Old Man's Child. On Old Man's Child albums, he has performed vocals, guitars, bass, and keyboards, though with a full line-up, his primary instruments are guitar and keyboards, as well as vocals. He joined Dimmu Borgir in 2000 but has kept Old Man's Child active.
Chrome Division is a Norwegian rock band formed in 2004. The current lineup consists of founding member Shagrath on rhythm guitar, along with Eddie Guz as the vocalist, Mr Damage on lead guitar and Tony White on drums. The band has released five albums through Nuclear Blast: Doomsday Rock 'n Roll in 2006, Booze, Broads and Beelzebub in 2008, 3rd Round Knockout in 2011, Infernal Rock Eternal in 2014, and One Last Ride in 2018. The band announced that their fifth album would be their last.
In Sorte Diaboli is the seventh studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2007. It is the band's first concept album. A site on the Nuclear Blast website was created for In Sorte Diaboli, in which a new promotional photo can be seen and an audio sample can be heard. This would be the last album by Dimmu Borgir to feature ICS Vortex, Hellhammer and Mustis.
Out of the Dark is a two disc compilation album from Nuclear Blast Records to commemorate their 20 years as a record label. Produced by Peter Wichers, who is also the only songwriter on the album, it features a variable collection of "All Stars" much in the same vein as Roadrunner United. The album includes 11 different singers, with Wichers playing bass and guitar, and drums by Dirk Verbeuren and Henry Ranta. It also includes a second disc which includes 10 songs from thrash metal, death metal and black metal bands signed to Nuclear Blast. While its "twin" album Into the Light focuses more on the power metal side of the label, Out of the Dark is rather devoted to the genre of melodic death metal.

Black River is a Polish stoner rock/heavy metal band. They were formed in 2008 by Tomasz Wróblewski (bass), Dariusz Brzozowski (drums), Piotr "Kay" Wtulich (guitar), Artur "Art." Kempa (guitar), and Maciej Taff (vocals).
Abrahadabra is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2010. The first single from the album, "Gateways", was released on 20 August in Europe and 24 August in North America. On 14 September a video for "Gateways" was released featuring Djerv front-woman, Agnete Kjølsrud. On 17 September the song "Born Treacherous" was released on Dimmu Borgir's official Myspace for streaming. On 24 September the band announced they would stream Abrahadabra in its entirety, until 7 p.m. EST that evening. This would mark the first official release of all the tracks on the album. The album features drummer Daray and additional keyboards by Gerlioz.
