Disney Treasure is the sixth cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Her sister ship, Disney Wish , was launched in 2022. Disney Treasure is the second ship of the Wish-class (Triton Class). She entered service on December 21, 2024, and will be followed by Disney Destiny on November 20, 2025. She sails Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries. The other five ships in the entire fleet are the Disney Magic , Disney Wonder , Disney Dream , Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish. The Disney Adventure will join the fleet on December 15, 2025.
In March 2016, Disney Cruise Line announced that it had commissioned two new ships, described as larger than Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy but with an equivalent number of staterooms. [3] [4] A third ship of the class, the later Disney Treasure, was announced on July 15, 2017, at the D23 Expo. [5] Delivery was planned for 2022, but postponed until 2024 in 2020. [6] In March 2018, Disney Cruise Line released the first rendering of its new generation of cruise ships. [7] [8] The 140,000-ton cruise liners would be LNG-powered and would accommodate at least 2,500 guests. [9] In January 2019, the class of ship was confirmed as Triton in public documents published by Port Canaveral, [10] [11] however, is now following the standard naming of class after the first ship. [12] The first of these ships, Disney Wish , was delivered in June 2022.
On September 11, 2022, the sixth ship was officially announced as the Disney Treasure at the D23 Expo. The ship will be inspired by the theme of adventure, with the Grand Hall inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace which draws on inspiration from real-world Asia and Africa, as well as paying homage to Agrabah. On November 27, 2022, the first section of the ship arrived at Meyer Werft where construction is taking place. [14] The floating engine room unit ("FERU", 140 x 39 Meters, including MAN type 12V 51/60DF engines and two LNG tanks) was built at Neptun Werft, Rostock and was transferred to Meyer Werft later. On March 30, 2023, the keel laying ceremony occurred at Meyer Werft with the keel coin showcasing Voyager Minnie, Captain Minnie's new adventure-themed outfit for the Disney Treasure. [19] [20] On July 12, 2023, Disney Parks Blog started an official "ship's log" documenting the shipbuilding process of the Disney Treasure. This was updated on July 18, 2023, to debut the ship's stern characters: Captain Hook and Peter Pan. [21] The hull of the ship was completed in December 2023. [22] She had set sail on her maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, from Port Canaveral, Florida, and includes 7-night voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. [23]
The ship was floated in the drydock in March 2024 for the first time [24] and left the drydock in August. It left the shipyard towards Eemshaven on September 18, [25] [26] [27] [28] [29] [30] where it arrived on September 19. [31] [32] The ship left Eemshaven on September 25 at 23:14 (UTC+2) for Sea trials in the Skagerrak. [33]
On October 24, the ship was delivered in Eemshaven. [34] She left Eemshaven on October 29 (16:39 (UTC+1)) towards Funchal, Portugal (ETA 2024-11-03 07:00 (UTC+0)). [33] [35]
On November 11, 2024, while on its delivery voyage, the ship rescued a family of four from a sinking sailboat off the coast of Bermuda. Disney Treasure was sailing 80 miles from the boat whose bilge pump could not contain the flood. Disney Treasure rescued all four occupants. [36] [37]
The christening took place on November 19 in New York City. [38]

On September 5, 2023, Disney Cruise Line shared a first look at their newest ship, the Disney Treasure, which embarked on December 21, 2024. Disney Treasure, similar to Disney Wish , would have several restaurants, immersive spaces and experiences themed to various Disney characters and properties, including Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars , and Pixar. The ship features a Coco -themed restaurant, a Tomorrow Tower Suite inspired by EPCOT and a Jungle Cruise-inspired lounge.[ citation needed ]
In October 2023, Disney announced that the ship would also feature a bar themed after its attraction The Haunted Mansion, a first in the cruise line's history. [40]
Disney Treasure features the signature Triton-class musical horns. However, the Disney Treasure also features horns not played on Disney Wish.

The ship features a water coaster at sea, called the AquaMouse, which is similar to the Disney Wish's version of the water coaster, but it includes a brand-new Mickey and Minnie Mouse short called Curse of the Golden Egg, which is be expected to include immersive show scenes, special effects and incredible ocean views, with some splashing, drifting and sliding through a mysterious ancient temple in search of legendary treasure.

Every night of a Disney Treasure cruise, guests dine at a different restaurant. This is called "rotational dining". On a Disney ship guests rotate along with their servers which helps develop the relationship between diner and wait staff. [41]
The rotational dining restaurants on the Disney Treasure are 1923, located on deck 3 aft; Worlds of Marvel, located on deck 4 aft; and Plaza de Coco, located on deck 5 aft. As well as rotational dining, the Disney Treasure also has two specialty restaurants: PALO Steakhouse and Enchanté, which incur an additional cost and are exclusively for adults.

Disney Wonder is a cruise ship operated by Disney Cruise Line. It was the second ship to join the Disney fleet on entering service in 1999. Disney Wonder is of the same class as Disney Magic. The other four ships in the fleet are the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and The interior of Disney Wonder is decorated in the Art Nouveau style, in contrast to her sister ship, Disney Magic which is decorated in the Art Deco style. Both ships have 11 public decks, can accommodate 2,400 passengers in 875 staterooms, and have a crew of approximately 950. Disney Wonder was built in the year following completion of Disney Magic. As of 2015, Disney Wonder sails various North American itineraries on a seasonal basis. From early September to late October 2016, the ship underwent dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, where she was given many new dining, entertainment, and accommodation enhancements.

Meyer Werft is a German shipbuilding company, headquartered in Papenburg at the river Ems. It was founded in 1795, as a builder of small wooden vessels. It has been owned and managed by the Meyer family for seven generations. Since 1997, it has been part of the Meyer Neptun Group, together with Neptun Werft in Rostock. In 2014, the company added the Turku shipyard in Finland to the group. Since then, it has also been a builder of luxury passenger ships. 700 ships of different types had been built at the yard. The Dock 2 Hall is the third largest shipbuilding hall and the fifth-largest usable volume in the world as of 2022. The shipyard is an anchor on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

AquaDuck is a water coaster with similar turns, drops and g-forces to a roller coaster that is located on the deck of two Disney cruise ships. It was first constructed on the Disney Dream in January 2011 and then later on the Disney Fantasy in February 2012, and the ride opened on the Disney Wish as AquaMouse on July 14, 2022, with its sister ship, the Disney Treasure, to follow later as AquaMouse on December 21, 2024.
Norwegian Escape is a Breakaway Plus-class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), a subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. She was the fleet's first Breakaway Plus-class ship to be delivered and was designed with larger dimensions and gross tonnage than her older sister ships, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, at 164,998 GT.
Norwegian Joy is a Breakaway Plus-class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and is the second of four Breakaway Plus-class vessels in the company's fleet. Built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, she was delivered in April 2017.
Norwegian Encore is a Breakaway Plus-class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). She is the fourth Breakaway Plus-class ship in the fleet, following sister ships Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy, and debuted in November 2019.
Mardi Gras is an Excellence-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. She is Carnival's lead vessel of the fleet's Excel-class, a subclass of the Excellence class, and was built by Finnish shipbuilder Meyer Turku in Turku, Finland. She also has often been incorrectly referred to as Carnival Mardi Gras, though Carnival has specified that her name does not include the "Carnival" prefix, a first since the Fantasy-class vessels originally omitted "Carnival" in their names upon their debuts. Mardi Gras has been subject to numerous delays in her construction, delivery, and debut amid the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent impact on tourism. First scheduled for a summer 2020 delivery and debut, she was delivered to Carnival on 18 December 2020. After her debut was postponed on numerous occasions, Mardi Gras began operating weekly sailings on 31 July 2021.

She entered service in June 2022 and was followed by her sister ship the Disney Treasure in 2024, followed by the Disney Destiny later in 2025. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or simply Lookout Cay, is a private peninsula in The Bahamas which serves as an exclusive port for the Disney Cruise Line ships. It is located in the south-eastern region of Bannerman Town, South Eleuthera. In March 2019, The Walt Disney Company purchased the peninsula from the Bahamian government, giving the company control over the area.
Disney Adventure is an upcoming eighth cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, due to enter service on December 15, 2025. Disney Adventure is the first and only ship of the Global class, with her then-planned sister ship scrapped due to Genting Hong Kong, Star Cruises, Dream Cruises, and MV Werften all filing for bankruptcy from January to June 2022. She will enter service in 2025. The other seven ships in the Disney fleet are Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny.
