Domonic Paul William Bedggood (born 18 September 1994) is an Australian diver. He was a gold medallist at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Background

Bedggood was born on 18 September 1994 in Southport, [1] a suburb of Queensland's Gold Coast. He was originally a gymnast but turned to diving after breaking his back in a high bar routine gone wrong. [2] Bedggood started diving at the age of sixteen. He trains at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre.

Career

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, he won the Men's Synchronised 10m platform with Matthew Mitcham. [3] At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, he teamed with Melissa Wu to win a bronze medal in the Mixed 10m Synchronised. [4]

At the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Bedggood won a gold medal in the Men's 10m platform and bronze medals in the Men's 3m Synchronized (with Matthew Carter) and the Men's 10m Synchronized (alongside Dec Stacey). [5]

On the second day of diving competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, held in Birmingham, England, Bedggood won a bronze medal in the 10 metre synchronized platform with partner Cassiel Rousseau, scoring 412.56 points to finish less than 18 points behind the gold medal duo from England and less than 2 points behind the silver medal duo from Canada. He became the country's first world junior diving champion after winning gold at the 3 m springboard event in the World Junior Championships held at Belem, Brazil in 2004. He trained under the coaching of Yang Zhuliang. Lomas is named after the footballer Bryan Robson by his father.

Cheong Jun Hoong is a retired Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, she became Malaysia's first diving world champion after winning the 10m platform event.

Daniel Goodfellow is a British diver, two-time Commonwealth champion and Olympic bronze medalist. Maddison Keeney is an Australian diver. She won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, gold medals at the 2017 and 2019 World Aquatics Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games, and silver medals at the 2014, 2018, and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Lois Mae Toulson is a British diver. A specialist in the 10 metre platform, she won the gold medal at the inaugural European Games in 2015, and the senior European title in 2017. She competed in the women's synchronized ten metre platform event at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Tonia Couch. Aidan Heslop is a British diver and high diver who competes internationally representing Wales and Great Britain. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games he competed representing Wales, finishing 6th in the 10 metre platform and 12th in the 3 metre springboard. In 2021, he won the gold medal in the 27 metre high dive at the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Festival representing Great Britain, performing the highest difficulty dive, a 6.2 degree of difficulty, in history. He placed sixth in the inaugural men's high dive at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships.

Kyle Kothari is an English diver representing Great Britain and England in competition. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal in the 10 metre mixed synchronised platform, and placed fourth in the 10 metre synchronised platform. He is a 2022 European champion in the 10 metre mixed synchronised platform and the 10 metre synchronised platform.

Emily Boyd is an Australian diver who competes in the 3m and 10m individual events, as well as the 10m synchronised. She is a commonwealth bronze medallist in the mixed synchronised 10 m platform competing alongside Cassiel Rousseau.

Nikita Hains is an Australian diver who competes in the 10m individual events, as well as the 10m synchronised.
