"Door de wind" ("Through the Wind") was the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989, performed in Dutch by Ingeborg. It was composed by Dutch singer-songwriter Stef Bos, initially for his mother who suffered from cancer at the time. [1]
The song was performed sixth on the night, following Turkey's Pan with "Bana Bana" and preceding the United Kingdom's Live Report with "Why Do I Always Get it Wrong?". At the close of voting, it had received 13 points, placing 19th in a field of 22.
The song is a mid-tempo love ballad, with Ingeborg explaining to her lover that she "never feel[s] lost" as a result of him, despite the titular wind. Ingeborg also recorded the song in English, as "Breakaway".
It was succeeded as Belgian representative in the 1990 contest by Philippe Lafontaine singing "Macédomienne".
In October 2020, the song was covered by Dutch artist Miss Montreal in the television show Beste Zangers. It immediately hit the Dutch charts, ultimately reaching the 3rd position in the Dutch Top 40. The cover hit the Flemish charts as well. Later that same year, it became the highest newcomer in the annual Top 2000, entering in the 29th place, simultaneously being the highest position for a female artist in that edition of the Top 2000.

Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta, better known by her stage name Glennis Grace, is a Dutch singer from Amsterdam. In 2005 Grace represented the Netherlands in the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and in 2018 she appeared on the 13th season of America's Got Talent and made it to the finals. Grace has received online attention due to the similarity between her voice and that of Whitney Houston.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "What's the Pressure" written by Sanne Putseys, Louis Favre, Birsen Uçar and Yannick Werther. The song was performed by Laura Tesoro. The Belgian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden was selected through the national final Eurosong 2016, organised by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT). The competition featured five competing acts and consisted of two presentation shows and a final. In the final on 17 January 2016, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting: the first selected the top two via the votes of ten international jury groups and a public televote, while the second selected the winner solely by public televoting. "What's the Pressure" performed by Laura Tesoro was the winner after placing first during both rounds of voting.
