Klaus Schulze was a German electronic music pioneer, composer and musician. He also used the alias Richard Wahnfried and was a member of the Krautrock bands Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and The Cosmic Jokers before launching a solo career consisting of more than 60 albums released across six decades.
Ash Ra Tempel was a West German krautrock group led by guitarist Manuel Göttsching that was active from 1970 to 1976. Their debut album Ash Ra Tempel was released in 1971. Following the band's demise, Göttsching released music under the name Ashra.
The Breathtaking Blue is the third album by German synth-pop band Alphaville, released in April 1989. A companion video, Songlines, was released in September 1989. The CD release of this album was one of the first commercial CD+G format discs. Alphaville released three singles from the album, "Romeos", "Summer Rain" and "Mysteries of Love", the first of which charted internationally.
Let Me Rock You is the third solo studio album released by American musician and former Kiss drummer Peter Criss. Due to poor sales for his previous album, Out of Control, Let Me Rock You was not released in the United States until 1998, when it was reissued on CD. The album was produced by Vini Poncia, who previously produced Criss's 1978 solo album. Let Me Rock You features the song "Feels Like Heaven", written by Criss's former bandmate, Gene Simmons. Vinnie Cusano also co-wrote a song for the album; at the same year the album was released, Cusano became known as Vinnie Vincent when he replaced Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. The album cover features Peter Criss for the first time without his Kiss makeup, as he did not appear on the cover of his solo album Out of Control. One year later, Kiss also decided to take off their makeup for their Lick It Up album.
Blackdance is the third album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1974, and in 2007 was the twenty-fifth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. For the first time Schulze uses "real" synthesizers and a singer. "Voices of Syn" features Ernst Walter Siemon on vocals. Due to packaging and print errors on later releases, Blackdance was considered Schulze's fourth album for decades, until Klaus D. Müller, Schulze's biographer and publicity manager, discovered from searching through his personal diaries that Picture Music, thought to be the third album, was recorded after Blackdance. Despite this, the reissue labels Blackdance as Schulze's fourth album.
Picture Music is the fourth album of electronic music by German musician Klaus Schulze. It was recorded in late 1974 and released in January 1975 on Brain Records. In 2005 this was the second Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. This is the only Klaus Schulze solo album in which he can be heard playing a drum kit. Prior to his solo career, he was the drummer for Ash Ra Tempel; on his later albums, drummer Harald Großkopf of Wallenstein frequently contributed. Like many of his albums, this one has one long track on each side.
Audentity is the fifteenth album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1983, and in 2005 was the eleventh Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. The reissue of Audentity is one of two examples of a Klaus Schulze reissue that changes the original order of the tracks.
Dig It is the thirteenth album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1980, and in 2005 was the sixth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. It is Schulze's first fully digital recording. The 2005 reissue includes a bonus DVD with the video recording of the 1980 performance at Ars Electronica, which was previously released as audio on The Ultimate Edition (2000).
Dziękuję Poland Live '83 is the sixteenth album by Klaus Schulze. It was originally released in 1983, and in 2006 was the seventeenth Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. "Katowice" is essentially a live version of "Spielglocken" from Audentity. "Lodz" is essentially a live version of "Ludwig II von Bayern" from X. "Dzien dobry!" is an alternate take of "Katowice"/"Spielglocken".
CrazyShow is a limited-edition four-CD album by Alphaville, composed of new material as well as rare and remixed tracks, and three cover versions. It's considered to be a sequel to the eight-CD album Dreamscapes, and as such the discs are numbered from 9 to 12.
Aphrica is a collaboration album by Klaus Schulze, Rainer Bloss and Ernst Fuchs, with the painter Fuchs providing vocals. Aphrica was both released and withdrawn in 1984. Although the reason the album was taken off the market was mainly legal, Schulze had very little positive to say about the collaboration in retrospect: "Besides, it's an awful album, just because of that silly singing or recitation. Fuchs tries to be "serious", but he's only involuntarily funny. In Germany we have the word "peinlich" for it." The press seemed to agree. According to tip, a Berlin-based magazine, "(...) due to their grandiloquent dimwittedness, the lyrics provoke only tormented laughter."
Dreams is the nineteenth album by Klaus Schulze. It was released in 1986, and in 2005 was the third Schulze album reissued by Revisited Records. The reissue bonus track was released early 2004 in Hambühren as a limited promo CD Ion.
