Eduardo Cornejo (born November 19, 1981) is a baseball coach and former infielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the Cal State Northridge Matadors. He played college baseball at Riverside Community College in 2001 before transferring to Oklahoma. He played professionally from 2003 to 2008.
Cornejo grew up in San Bernardino, California, where he attended Jurupa Valley High School. Cornejo would go on to play college baseball for the Riverside Community College. As a freshman at Riverside Community College in 2001, Connejo had a .368 batting average, a .438 on-base percentage (OBP), and a .492 slugging percentage (SLG), with three home runs. [1] As a sophomore in 2002, he transferred to the University of Oklahoma, Cornejo batted .325 with a .411 SLG, 17 doubles, and 31 RBIs. As a junior in 2003, he batted .393 with a .509 SLG, 2 home runs, and 49 RBIs. [2]
Cornejo was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 13th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with the Athletics on June 6, 2003, forgoing his senior year of eligibility in college. [3] He would play the next five years in the Athletics organization, never advancing above Triple-A. He was released, and signed with the Colorado Rockies organization where he would finish out the 2008 season. He announced his retirement in 2009.
Cornejo began his coaching career in 2011, as an assistant for the UC Riverside Highlanders. [4] He would join the staff of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos the following season. [5] He left the Gauchos following the 2018 season to join the staff of the San Jose State Spartans. [6] He would join Dave Serrano's staff on the Cal State Northridge Matadors for the 2020 season. When Serrano announced that he would be retiring following the 2022 season, Cornejo was named the head coach of the Matadors beginning with the 2023 season. [7]

Serrano formerly served as head coach at Cerritos College from 1984 to 1985 and at California State University, Fullerton from 1986 to 1987 for coach Augie Garrido. He served as the head coach at University of California, Irvine from 2005 to 2007, Cal State Fullerton from 2008 to 2011, the University of Tennessee from 2012 to 2017 and CSU Northridge from 2020–2022.

William Craig Kernen is an American baseball coach and playwright. He was the head coach at Cal State Northridge from 1989 to 1995 and at Cal State Bakersfield from 2009 to 2015. Other coaching positions as an assistant included North Carolina State (2001–02), Cal State Fullerton, University of Illinois (1988) and Sacramento State (2019).
The Cal State Northridge Matadors are the athletic teams that represent California State University, Northridge in Northridge, Los Angeles, California. The Matadors field 17 teams in nineteen sports. The Matadors compete in NCAA Division I and are members of the Big West Conference. CSUN has been a member of the Big West Conference since the summer of 2001 for most sports. The men's and women's indoor track and field teams compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation instead. Men's volleyball also competed in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, but began to compete in the Big West beginning in 2018.
Matador Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of Cal State Northridge in Los Angeles, California, United States, more specifically in the San Fernando Valley district of Northridge. It is home to the Cal State Northridge Matadors baseball team, a member of the Division I Big West Conference. The venue was opened on March 4, 1961, with the Matadors losing 10–8 to Claremont-Mudd. The facility has a capacity of 1,200.

Moore played college baseball at Long Beach City College and the University of San Francisco. He served as head coach of the Cal State Northridge Matadors baseball team from 2014 to 2019.

The 2017–18 Cal State Northridge Matadors women's basketball team represents California State University, Northridge during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Matadors, led by eighth year head coach Jason Flowers, play their home games at the Matadome as members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 19–16, 8–8 in Big West play to finish in fifth place. They won the Big women's tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they lost to Notre Dame in the first round.
The 2018–19 Cal State Northridge Matadors men's basketball team represented California State University, Northridge in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Matadors, led by first-year head coach Mark Gottfried, competed at the Matadome. CSU Northridge was a member of the Big West Conference, and participated in their 18th consecutive season in that league. They finished the season 13–21, 7–9 in Big West play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big West tournament to UC Santa Barbara. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Utah Valley.
Eric Christian Newman is an American baseball coach and former pitcher. He is the head baseball coach of the UC San Diego Tritons. Newman played college baseball at Fresno State before transferring to Texas Tech in 1994 and in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for seven seasons from 1995 to 2002. He then served as the head coach of the Dallas Baptist Patriots (2005–2007). He is the older brother of Andy Newman.
